Hey guys, I've been vaping for about 7 months now.. Love it!! Anyways, for the past few weeks or so - I've been experiencing a lot of soreness & hoarseness in my throat and voice, mostly when I'm just waking up and a few hours afterwards.. My throat is really sore when I wake up every morning lately, and my voice feels very hoarse and sounds very low and crackly.

Hydrating myself definitely helps, but this kind of came out of nowhere. When I began vaping, sometimes it would give me a heavy feeling in my lungs, but haven't noticed that in a while. I always use 50/50 pg/vg juice, 12mg nic - usually in my Protank (PT does give a more 'raw' throat hit and flavor if that makes sense).

Maybe it has to do with the heat of summer?? And I did switch to a different brand of juice about a week ago (MBV, I'm still using my local vendors' juice but now I'm using MBV's toasted marshmallow also).. Guess I need to stay extra hydrated this summer. Thanks in advance!!
:)

Try less vg in your blend. Also drink a large glass of water or two before bed. These two things eliminated this issue for me.

Sorry, but i thought it was pg what irritates the throat, after all it is the pg which gives you the throat hit.

So i would have to say lower the pg, or try 100% vg.

You are correct on the pg vs. vg (although Chadgio had a different, experience - par for the course with vaping!) Personally, I wouldn't go as far as changing my ratios (unless the OP is really bothered by it) if I liked the juice. Where I live, one can wake up with a bloody nose just from the dry air - nothing to do with vaping or smoking.

The UK is so lush and green, I briefly lived there. Have you ever lived in the desert Terry? ;)

Thanks guys, I was thinking about trying more VG in my juice.. The only thing is I love my flavor, hopefully more VG wouldn't effect it too much. I always have 2 or 3 glasses of water or cool-aid or something before bed because I get real dry at night anyways. I do love larger vapor clouds too so maybe more VG would work great for me

I suggest looking into "Biotene." It's for dry mouth symptoms. There is an oral rinse and some that's a bit thicker for before you go to bed. Some people don't care for the minty taste, but the stuff is freaking brilliant!

yeah there's a post somewhere someone explained and I don't remember but something about the nic/pg/vg basically being a bla bla bla that it draws water to it thus takes water from your body (mouth, throat, lungs) try to drink more non caffeinated drinks...more water (I do flavored water cuz I can't stand just water) and/or juice. I actually keep some on my nightstand now so I can get a drink before sleep and when I wake

Since this came out of nowhere it probably is a symptom of changing up your juices. I figure, after 7 months of vaping you probably know http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/337017-inhalation-technique-e-cigarette.html and the importancy of http://nutrition.about.com/library/blwatercalculator.htm hydration so using deductive logic I'd link it to your new juice somehow. Regardless if that's the cause or not, it isn't serious as others already stated. Especially with temporary use of some OTC remedies.

However, if it does not go away see a doctor you might have an oral infection of sorts, nothing antibiotics can't cure though. Dry mouth breeds bacteria.

Depending on how long you smoked tobacco your body will go through stages of wierdness which is its way of healing and undoing years of assault from the stinkies. There's also a medical section on ECF but read it in doses because otherwise you might get hypersensative about every little thing.

You're welcome in advance!

ETA: I'm not an expert but I did stay at a Holiday Inn once.

1 or two drops of vinegar -- idk if this will help you but, it helps me whenever a juice gives me the dries or the bloody nose, I drop some vinegar and away it goes. the ph is off,,, i have a chemistry set where i can measure juices ph if it gives me an issue and usually its very alkaline when issue happen and the vinegar lowers its ph to a more stable safe. I try to vape @neutral 7ph and have no issues like I did when I first started. the vinegar also enhances vapor like magic happens in there.. no you cannot taste the vinegar..
