I'm reading all these threads about sore gums but the only time frame mentioned on how long you have it is always vague and sticks to, "It will pass soon."

My gums aren't exactly sore, but sensitive. There's 2 threads on it but it was last posted back in 2010. It's a sensitive tingly feeling while inhaling, never any other time. I could sit there with vapor chambered in my mouth but the second I inhale, ouch. Exhaling the vapor without inhaling it? Totally fine. Only when inhaling it does it cause my lower gums/teeth to tingle and it's annoying. Very.

I have 70/30 juices coming in the mail next week, hopefully whatever this effect is goes away sooner than later.

Note: I smoked Menthol Lights and was never a heavy smoker and could quit smoking for a week-month or so before I start going through stressful things in life that lead me to having a cig. I've never smoked a pack faster than about 3 days, and more than average about a pack every 5-6 days (3-4 cigs a day). Never really had an addiction or withdrawl to it. Just went from cigs to juice. However, I been vaping constantly throughout the whole day ever since last Thursday when I got me SI Volt. Not sure if it's due to overdose of nicotine or what, but I haven't gotten the hiccups from it...

So, assuming what i'm going through is more PG related and my mouth returning to a normal state and so and so fourth. How long did you have the soreness before you could vape normally?

I'm definitely not an expert. Just some thoughts...... Maybe it could be the way the air is hitting gums. Just the lower teeth/gum area is sensitive? I would think if it were a PG issue it would not be one location. But I don't know for sure. Any other symptoms to give you thought to it being PG?

I inhale different when vaping then I did smoking. Have any recession at gum line and the air on inhale could be causing sensitivity. Even with my going to dentist regularly, I had issue with my gums being more sensitive following quitting for at the least a month. I don't think it's uncommon.

Curious how many mg of nicotine is your juice? Thinking maybe, you need higher, if you are constantly vaping. Or once you are confident about quitting, try to cut back how much you vape through out your day. Good luck.

Sore/bleeding gums are a known side effect of nicotine. Nicotine is a skin irritant. it can also make your tongue, throat or lung irritated.

Having some VG in your juice helps buffer the irritation. I used 30% then switched to 20% because I think it flows a bit easier in cartomizers.

The other thing that I think helps is use cartomizers w/ a plastic or delrin drip tip instead of the endcap. That will bring the vapor into your mouth in a wider stream and can also help bring the vapor into your mouth beyond your teeth and not onto your gums.

Also you need to keep the endcap or drip tip free of eliquid - if there is eliquid residue it will get onto your lips and from there onto your gums.

Thanks guys, I vape 12mg. I switched to vaping to replace cigarette not really stop smoking. I vape so much because I don't get that tingly lightheaded nicotine high unless I take double hits or something and also because I love the taste of it so much.

18mg is too strong for me, don't like the TH at all.

I don't have bleeding gums though, just sensitive/tingly when I inhale the vapor, and ONLY when I inhale.

I'm in the army so of course I dip and smoke at the same time. .....ing horrible I know, but I've never gotten an sort of irritation from vaping and now that I'm never going back I feel great. Of course I've probably destroyed anything in my mouth with the dipping. Stupid past me, I would kick that guys ... for making the decision to start dipping.
