Sore throat from cotton balls?

Hey guys just got a kayfun lite I kinda went crazy and I smoked about 5 - 6 ml of e juice in one day when I got it and that was with silica

Then I read up about cotton balls so I wanted to give that a try and then did that the next day
I bought 100% cotton balls from the dollar store

Sense I did the cotton ball / micro coil
I have had this hard core sore throat I can not even vape I ran out of DIY juice and went and got some from my local vape shop which is about a 70% pg juice my DIY juice is normally 70 % vg

Do you guys think I got a sore throat from the cotton balls?? Did anyone else get a sore throat from cotton balls?? I did not buy sterile cotton balls and I did not boil them

Or is this because of the pg juice ? I've had a sore throat now for about 2 days and I'm dying to use my kayfun lite it taste soooooooooooo good

You may be confusing correlation with causation. You may have gotten a sore throat by being infected with strep by someone at the Dollar Store.

Go see a doctor and have him do a strep swab test.

That pathogen can't survive without a warm blooded host for very long.

Good point. I didn't really catch that cause 5-6 mls would be a light day for me, but the OP did classify that as going crazy

i noticed my throat was getting sore too and phlemy. talked it over with some friends at a vape store. we all agreed it was probably dehydration especially since its pretty dang hot now, at least in los angeles.

I know this is facepalm in the description and I know smdh stands for something else but I always like to think it stands for smacks my d... head. Sounds like you figured it out,(dehydration+overvaping) just remember now that you irritated it it needs time to heal.

Strep is going around, my wife and I had a semi severe and very painful case earlier this week. I am still in the same boat, very sore throat and anything with PG in it makes it worse.

Dude, ditch the cheapo cotton balls, and at the very least get some sterile balls from cvs. Or some organic cotton balls from whole foods.
Or boil the ones you have really well.
I would not personally use any cotton that wasn't sterile, organic or at the very least boiled.

I also had some bad side effects from some cheap cotton balls and was going to give up on cotton until I found some cotton candle wick, and boy was I happy the candle wick worked so well that it's the only thing I have used in the last year.

Thanks guys ! For all your replies! I tried yarn and boiled it for 15 minutes no sore throat

So I finally found sterile cotton balls I was looking for them every where!

Walgreens, target, walmart could never find them so I finally found them last night at cvs gonna try them again today and post if I get a sore throat from it

Also all my DIY juice came in so I am back to 70% vg

Yarn I don't like because you can't make your wick the exact size you want with it

Cotton balls you just keep rolling and it seems like cotton balls holds more juice / wicks faster probably my imagination though
