Ok so I read that a dry throat is typical with using a PG type liquid and that when you switch you still can have issues with it. I have only been using my e-cig again for a day... and my throat already feels tight and swollen. I don't know if its the switching from analogs or if I'm slightly allergic to the PG. Any ideas guys?

I got a sore throat for the first couple weeks after vaping, and still do if I go too long without taking a drink or something (often on lunch break at work where I'm outside just vaping away). But after a short adjustment period I don't really notice anything anymore. Another thing I noticed is that my respiratory system is a lot drier now. My coughs, throat clearing, etc are all dry instead of being full of phlegm. At first I found it painful but now I don't even notice it anymore, and I'm sure it's a good thing :)

Theres also a slight chance of a pg allergy but I wouldn't jump to that conclusion right away. I also suspected that to be the case early on but alas, not so. I still do prefer my mixes with more VG though. Even though it doesn't give me huge problems anymore, I just don't like the th I get from PG at all. Give me just enough to know I've inhaled something other than air and I'm happy.

Above all if your throat is feeling swollen and you find it hard to breath at all I would just stop immediately perhaps consulting a doctor before you try again.

PG can be an irritant, and sometimes it's not just a matter of drinking more water. Also matters on what voltage you're using. I was doing decent (occasional sore throat) on PG (50/50) when I was vapin at 3.2/3.7. When I stepped up the voltage I wrecked my throat in a big way, and I do mean wrecked! I'm on all VG now. It's been an entire month and my throat is still messed up but starting to heal. I don't know if I'll ever vape higher PG again. Hopin my throat will be well enough in a couple of months to try it again, but right now even a few hits of PG makes it sore even using my weakest set up. Don't let it get too bad before you try the VG. Of course more water is a great idea to help, but I think the PG can be pretty harsh with or without it.

Well I got my e-cig on fri last week, smoked it for a day and a half and started to feel like my throat was closing. Kinda like I had strep or something. I laid off the e-cig from mon-wed night... then last night and today have been smoking my e-cig. Well and I had discovered I was trying to vape a dry cartridge for awhile. So I switched it out went well until evening. Now half my throat feels tight and slightly sore. I've been trying to down water and gargle it to see if it will calm down the ache.

As mentioned above, some of the ingredients in the juice mix can be irritants and pg does little to buffer them. I've noticed that some of my berry flavors tend to irritate my throat more than some of my other juices. I normally vape some of the tobacco flavors mixed with sweet flavors such as candy cane and usually don't have a problem. You might try a pg-vg mix and keep track of the flavors that are less irritating. Some of the ingredients added to increase th are irritants also. And as always and you can't repeat this to yourself too many times -- drink lots of water.
