Some people are PG intolerant, an irrated throat could be a symptom.
Usually allergies affect people differently, with a set of symptoms, and not everyone has the same symptoms.
You didn't give much detail, if you are having any issues, and what they are.
But, if you have juice that has PG, and you are having allergic type reactions, simply cut out the PG, and see how it goes from there.

Sorry about the details,it was just a general question. But I do get a sore throat directly from vaping. I tend to have times throughout the day where I chain vap, thats when it gets sore. I often wake up with a mild sore throat. My juices run from 70%PG to 100%PG. And its all at 6mg. I have noticed that my Bloog produces a good bit of heat vapor. The vap I inhale is often hot I mean.
I'd rather skip the throat hit and have a cooler vap. But not sacrifice flavor. (I know thats a paradox)

How long have you vaped??? As a 20 year bartender, I had throat problems with analogs and often had a sore throat and a loss of my voice. I chain vape a 35mg, 75PG/25PG mix. I lost my voice for the first 2 weeks that I started vaping. I have been vaping for a month and I have not had any problems after that. The lesions in my esophagus and on my voice box have now started to heal.

Bloodwolf, good to know you are not PG intolerant. Some here are.
Certain flavor groups produce taste at lower voltages and/or standard ohm atty's.. Fruit flavors especially.
I know for example Ms T's Snickerdoodle, which is popular with many here, doesn't like hot, I also noticed Bananas Fosters Coffee doesn't either. Though most coffee/tobacco type flavors really shine on a hotter vape.

You didn't mention what juice you use though.

I use Sweet-Vapes juices at the moment. Next month I'm skipping all the trial and error stuff, going for the gold and buying a provari. I think it would take alot of the guess work out of some things. I dont wanna lose too much flavor but the throat hit is a bit much alot of times. I'm gonna try a higher VG also next month too see if that helps. For me anyways-Higher throat hit+high heat =sore throat.

Neither. Nicotine is the skin irritant. PG just does little to buffer it alone. PG lets through the most flavor, nicotine TH, nicotine irritation. VG dulls TH, flavor and irritation and adds thicker looking vapor. Most people use blends. And your vaping method may determine how much VG you can use because VG is very thick unless a vendor has thinned it with distilled water and even then it is thicker than PG.

normal atomizer - any PG/VG as long as it flows at least as fast as you vape it
tanks and reservoir cartos - like 30% or less VG, some thinner 50/50's may work
simple stuffing cartomizers - I like 20% VG or less. 30% works but seems to degrade the drag faster

Use blends appropriate to your equipment and drink plenty of fluids.

Bloodwolf, yes a VV PV should help you dial in your optimal setting.
Luckily I've just never had many issues other than the "quest" for max flavor! lol
I've just now started experimenting with LR Atty's and VV to dial in flavor better, after 3 years of vaping.

This morning I'm DD'ing on a 1.5ohm LR 510 on an Ego-C Battery, 24MG Vanilla Cappuccino. It's a nice sweet juice, but the flavor really comes out on the 1.5. Throat Hit is medium. Ms T's doesn't disclose exact VG/PG ratio's, but I would guess it's probably a 70-80VG/30-20PG mix. Straight fruit flavors don't do well on this Atty on a stock battery. So, just use my tanks on the stock "C" Atty's. though I did just order a 5 pack of the new LR "C" Atty's from ovale, and also ordered a couple of the VV batteries from Liberty Flights. My goal is to dial in flavor groups, and get my setup's always ready and waiting.

I know, it's a sickness! :)

In my experience, a sore throat is usually caused by the dehydrating effect of vaping. Make sure you drink lots of water. I sometimes get a scratchy throat, especially in the morning, and drink more water and it goes away. Just a thought.

Balth

Plus 1 on this, thought I was drinking more than enough and found out that 2-3 more glasses a day helped clear it up in about three days without any other changes.

I'm a southerner. And ice tea is a food group down here. I drink at least 6 glasses of ice tea a day. But I like my tea diluted with water and dont like it too sweet. I know it's not water and caffeine is a diuretic, but it isn't strong tea at all. I also should mention I'm on Lisinopril for BP, 120mg Cymbalta,15 mg Remeron, and 1200mg of Neurontin...all cause dry mouth. I could drink water all day, pee 30 times a day and still have a dry mouth. It's a losing war for me.

Bloodwolf, My doc put me on Lisinopril 20MG this last year, really ...... me off, I couldn't keep my BP under control. Since I quit smoking, and exercise more, I guess I felt I was off the leash on eating, as my metabolism is back up to where it was when I was much younger (I'm 52...).. I've found that I require less caffeine since I gave up analogs. I'm just guessing, but think the other chemicals played a major part in caffeine deflection in my system, as 2 cups of Joe in the morning, or a single large Latte' (W/ Vanilla please), does the trick now. I used to drink coffee as far into the day, as I wanted!
I still drink a few "Throwback" leaded Dews during the day though... Weird how only caffeinated coffee affects my system now.

I know, I've digressed from "Sore Throats", sorry.....
