Hi guys!
New to the forum. Hoping you can help me out!
Have been soy protein sensitive for years. Last week that turned to full blown soy anything anaphylaxis.
Been using my epi pen and in the ER like crazy. Being very careful of what i eat. Only thing I'm not sure of is if the vg in my juice has soy? Anyone else ever have this gong show? Lol. Thanks in advance!

That's a tough one. IDK what, if anything is made of soy, but if you are that allergic, I'd second Izan's suggestion and take the juices you normally use to be tested.

DIY may help in terms of control of ingredients, but then you would be looking at flavorings, and etc., and that can be an issue if you have a full blown allergy to the point that you need an epi pen.

In your case though it does sound like either you want to "pick" a stable of juices, that "work" (although I guess it's true that a formula or base can change, from time to time possibly) and have been tested by your allergist.

If you DIY you can certainly probably find out if there is any soy in bases or nic. With flavors, I'd say manufacturer's aren't going to give you a TON of specific information, but it might be worthwhile emailing and asking if any parts of flavorings manufactured used soy, if you explained your situation and severe allergy to it. Etc.

I wish you the best of luck, it sounds frustrating. I would make your allergist your partner in whatever you do, though. Allergists can certainly test specific substances that aren't in an "allergy" panel, my mom has had it done.

Hope you are able to get some answers,

Anna

VG is usually made from Palm Oil. But it is possible where it is processed that they also process soy products or even some flavoring may be the same. Get the VG from some place like Nicotine River and email them in advance and ask about soy. Ask them if it is 100% Palm based and not made in a factory that processes soy products before buying

Welcome and glad you joined.
Might want to ask that question to a qualified allergist, it will cut to the chase.
Chemical wise: VG/‎C3H8O3 and Soy/C35H66NO7P , Looks like carbon, hydrogen and oxygen is present in both.
