I now have a dilemma... I've been using a Joye 510 for a few months now, and like many others I'm very happy with it, except for the battery life. I was all set to order a Spade, and then they had to come out with the Tornado. Now I'm not sure which one I should order. I like the look of the Spade better, but the Tornado is cheaper. Anyone out there have both that can compare them?

i have both and its all a matter of what your looking for if its looks i would go for the spade it a very sexy looking device that works well. the eGo (the other name for the tornado i dont support tw that my personal beef though) is a monster on battery life i get at least 8-10 hours on it at heavy vaping.its solidly built and looks good (in the right color)

So the Tornado/Ego is 3.7 volts? I thought it was the same voltage as the 510 batteries (ie 3.3 volts).

Right.

If I'm not mistaken, the Spade will actually give you closer to a 3.7V vaping experience than the TorneGo. But, you'll have to deal with the shorter battery life.

To be honest with you, the Spade is about the same as taking a KR8 XL battery... and putting the 510 adapter on it.

(P.S. The 3.3V is actually closer to 3.1V or 3.0V)

Maybe Should of said "studies have shown that 3.7 is not the actual voltage" But calling both pretty much "standard voltage" there won't be alot of difference between the two.

I don't agree with that AT ALL.

I have standard eGo/Tornado batteries.. and I have one that I have modified to put out full battery voltage. I find the difference to be pretty substantial. It vapes just like my Bartleby.. which one would expect.

Not everybody may like full 3.7V+ from a 510 device.... but it is certainly different from "stock".

and how did you modify the battery?

The first thing you have to do is get the sucker pen without destroying it! Then I just bypassed the PWM circuit and directly drove the gate on the MOSFET from the switch.
