Specific PG vs. VG question

I have read everything I could find on this subject but still cannot figure this out. Specifically, at what point does the VG % start to mute the TH? I have a few orders from FSUSA and must say that I have been extremely satisfied with customer service and the product. However I tend to need a tobacco taste with good TH to satisfy my cig cravings. Don't get me wrong the other flavors are fabulous but I need that "almost" cig taste and hit to get me through. I ordered WE and Virginia tobacco in an attempt to get a good tobacco tasting juice. (Sadly USPS apparently has lost my WE order somewhere out there:(). I ordered 30/70 PG/VG for the Virginia (thought it would be cool to have more vapor) and I get absolutely no TH. Very unsatisfying! I know the taste may improve over time but does the TH as well? Is this very subjective to each individual or is there a general consensus as to what % PG I should get to make sure I get a nice TH but also have decent vapor?

Also would it make sense to order another bottle of the same juice at 100% PG and mix the two?

In my opinion, aging really changes nothing, not even flavor. So I would say "No" here.

This is subjective. I like between 60-80% PG with the rest VG. Not everyone will like that. Now, as to your original question...

Specifically, at what point does the VG % start to mute the TH?

Any. PG provides the maximum TH for a base. The greater percentage of PG you have, the higher TH (grain alcohol also provides TH, if you want more, but that's a different subject). Don't think of it as a point where TH starts to get affected. Think of it as a scale with 100 being the strongest possible TH and 0 being the weakest. Adding 2% VG means you're at 98% of the possible TH you can get without additions. Adding 10% VG means you're at 90% of highest possible without additions. So on and so forth.

The important question is at what point do YOU notice, and that's entirely subjective.

Thanks for the great info. I guess I will order another bottle and see if I can get it right (I see all the threads about stealth vaping, does anyone know how to stealth order? My wife is going to kill me).

(grain alcohol also provides TH, if you want more, but that's a different subject).

That is interesting to know. By any chance is that what is in some of those "insert adjective" HIT products (for example Monster Hit) that some of the vendors sell?

I agree with 95% of what Kevin just said. As far as aging - in my limited experience, it does increase the nicotine-related TH a bit. That is, it creates a bit more harshness/smokiness to the vape as opposed to the clean kick that PG provides.

The jury in my own head is still out on the flavor aspects of steeping though.

I have many juices that have aged for 3-4 months and steeping makes a tremendous difference in flavor! Some flavors taste totally different with some steep time but especially with the condensed FA flavoring that FSUSA uses there will be a major difference in flavor and color.

PS- You may want to watch the steeping video in the stickys also. I DIY a few things and as most DIYers know, you have to let your juice steep for awhile to reach
maximum flavor :)

I know some do, but I'd assume some vendors might have other options as well.

I know that FA offers a few things that I do not believe contain alcohol. I have some of that Monster Hit and I really have to wonder since it does have a strong alcohol smell.

This is also an interesting tidbit for you. I got a bottle of Candy Apple a few weeks back that was very good and had OK TH. We put it away and pulled it back out yesterday. My husband, who rarely comments on anything with juice, said wow, what a difference in TH. I believe that the flavoring also contributes or subtracts from TH. I find that sweet creamy flavors have less TH than menthol, tobacco, cinnamon or fruit.
