Sperating the chemical from the physical

Okay, so, heavy smoker, for years. Time to stop, order a ecig and realize I get one without nicotine, fantastic... but even the placebo of physically performing that action was enough to curb, to a degree, the incessant physical addiction. My question is, do most of you feel that it's the chemical addiction that controls your habit (sweating palms, easily agitated) or is it the physical habituation which controls you (having a smoke at lunchtime with friends since it's become a traditional habit) My ecigs do well on the chemical side of the addiction but sadly the physical butting and ashing and the feeling of holding the cigarette doesn't compare... help guys?

For me it was the needing nicotine in the mornings then the habit of smoking thru the day. My whole smoking habit is morphing into this weird liquid ritual and it is becoming more about that than it is about the nicotine. Tho i do think i fixed myself of nicotine, the first liquid i used was 36 mg and i vaped WAY too much of it in a short amount of time, felt sick, immediately went and diluted each juice i had by half. Lately i've been vaping 8mg no nic juice. It's now about the habit.

If the physical habit is already curbing your cravings you'll have an easy time of it. I find that the habit of hand to mouth/inhale exhale is and always was a bigger part of smoking than holding the cigarette and ashing it, but of course that is different for everyone.

When I quit smoking several years ago, the habit was the hard thing to break.

When I moved to vaping though, I did it by using a high-nicotine juice (36/mg). Over time, bouncing between analogs and my PV, my body began associating vaping with nicotine fixes. The first time I snuffed an analog and grabbed my vaporizer the habit thing was a non-issue.
