Spotty passthrough performance...

Hey question,

My pass-through (my must have part) is giving me on again off again power. Its only about 2 weeks old--although I use it alot (both in the car and at home). I have tried cleaning the holes, lightly cleaning with alohol--did not dip it--just cleaned with a q-tip. No luck--its almost like a wire is loose. I push the button hard, no change.

No problems at all until this afternoon in the middle of a car ride. Still doing it on the computer as well.

Time for a new one--or is there a fix out there.

From what you say, I would guess you probably have a short in your cord somewhere, it usually happens at a connection, move it around at the base of the passthrough, at the USB plug and if you have a battery box on both ends.

If it suddenly starts working you have a short.

You can try and warranty replace it, if it is out of warranty find a friend that is good with electronics to give it a look.

Of course it's still under warranty, because V4L actually HAS a real warranty. Just drop an email to customer service or val directly and she'll getcha hooked-up.

Yeah it must be a short near the pass through end--wiggling the cord shows it.
