I understand that buying the actual thing would be ideal but would the clone be ok? I'm a parent and spending crazy money on mods and stuff isn't a wise idea as my Mrs would kill me

I like springs over magnets in general but as long as it works well.
That's a good mod you linked.
There are other options but these are cheap enough and will definitely get the job done.
If you are comfortable using direct-to-battery mechanicals, I picked up a brass Able clone recently that I really like a lot.
It hits so well, it made me realize I needed to strip down and clean all my mother mods.
