Long story short I tried to use an A7 clone on my REO. When I made the coil it tested at 2.5 ohms which should have been find on my AW IMR 18650 battery.

A few hours later I littterally heard the spring collapse. Houston we have a problem. CHecked the atty on my vamo and my little atty meter and with a multimeter. SUddenly it was reading at .6 ohms...OOOOOOPS no clue why but that isn't good.

Tried recoiling this thing 15 times. I realized the atty itself has issues when a 15 wrap 32 gauge kanthal was still measuring .65 ohms. Big sigh. Ok going to toss out the atty.

SO I think to myself well I will change out the spring since I have a spare and go back to my RM2 which has never failed me.

Here is where my problem happens. I can't get the dang screw out to change the spring. It is in there so tight it wont budge and I am terrified I am going to strip it.

Is there anyone with any hints on how I can get this screw out? I just don't feel comfortable with the idea of stretching out the collapsed spring and continuing to use it. So I sort of HAVE to get this changed.

I'll tell you what I'd do in a pickle like that, Myrany. I'd try to turn the base of the spring. More leverage there. This might scratch the inside of the REO's bottom, so . . .. take it with a grain of non-scratchy salt . . . . . I'd lay the REO on it's back and press down on the other end of the spring plate/base with something like the tip of a largish flat head screwdriver (the front edge of it, but on the end furthest from the screw connection). If you can get it to move a few degrees, that might take enough pressure off the screw that you can turn it.

Well after a new screwdriver and much poking and prodding I got the spring replaced.

Unfortunately the screw is pretty chewed up. Redeyedancer is there any chance of you putting replacement bottom screws on the website to make it easy to buy replacements? Or maybe put one in the repair kit that can already be bought?

Robert, Mr Redeyedancer sir, You are da man!

Less than 12 hours after my request you had replacement screws up on the website. You are a lesson to every business man everywhere in how to take care of your customers.

Be assured you have a loyal customer for life here. This little old lady will be saving up her pennies for another RM2 and eventually another REO. Perfect vape + Perfect service
