Thabks man. Yah that is a gp dripper.

That's actually my single coil cap (they only made a limited run of them) which blocks have he chamber and the second air hole for super concentrated flavor.

so that build is either

6 wrap contact coil | 2.5 mm ID | 27 gauge wire (try the odd gauge where it's best of both worlds)

or

4 wrap spaced coil | lightening vape 28/36 kanthal / kanthal Clapton wire | 2.5 mm

6 wrap spaced | 28/36 stainless / stainless | 2.5

For dual coil cap:

6 wrap spaced | 28 /36 k/k Clapton 6 | 2.5 mm I'd x2

Or

8 wrap spaced | 28/36 s/s clapton | 2.5 mm ID

those builds all shine in the gp dripper. Lightning vape 28/36 Clapton wire is great. Both the kanthal /kanthal and the stainless/ stainless can be configured to work for mtl or huge clouds. I don't care for the kanthal wrapped stainless , I find it gives odd flavor

There's a misconception that thick wire is needed for big vapor but hat wire from LV is phenomenally versatile.

I had some store guys hit the gp dripper in that confit with the dual coil cap and they were getting better output that huge regulated mods and thick wire.

With the 28/36 lightening Clapton you don't have to deal with the downsides of Clapton wire like laying heat up or massive power requirements and you get the benefits of focused flavor. So it works really really well on mech mods.

I highly recommend it. They're the only place I know that sells 28/36 Clapton. The other benefit is the coils last forever. And they give resistance like 28 gauge wire. So for dual coils you get thick flavorful wire without having to go to .15 -.25 builds.

I hope that helps. For mech mods I typically use that Clapton wire. Or like I said 27 gauge is a good substitute. 8 wraps of 27 gauge on a 2.25mm post is 1 ohm even so you can extrapolate from there that dual 8 wrap contact coil on 2.5 would be .6 or so. And hit like a monster. Sorry for the long answer. Tried to make it legible at least.

Little orcas have landed!!!!

Sorry I'm trying to catch up and see a lot of discussion but missed who makes these. They're small and nice looking. Not a common combo. Probably very expensive I'm guessing?

Right now my "beater" setup for out and about and cheaper is this.

They are made by Floris Delfino in Italy.
He only sells enclosures and the little orca is right around $40 +/- depending on the options you choose. Shipping is around $15 and currently the only option available is Italian post, but mine arrived in about 3 weeks with the holidays and all.
Thankfully (for me anyways) the Euro is tanked right now so the exchange rate is about even.

Thanks - appreciate the detail!
A few bits are of real value -
I can't vape SS - it's more than a flavor, it makes me cough. Every configuration I've tried...
I do often build with 27 guage - though I'm usually sporting duals...
Still - good things to consider, and might well try one of the recommended claptons...THANKS!

The kanthal kanthal Clapton would be for you. If you like 27 try the lightening vape 28k/36k

Its like $10 for 15 ft with coupon and the coils are very abusable. So you can easily clean them. I find my kanthal Clapton coils last ages with reworking every other day and cleaning once a week. I'm talking months if I want them to. Its a very similar vape to the 27 but slightly higher resistance which works well for dual coils. If you did a dual 2.5 mm 5/6 wrap you'd be at about .5 ohm and absolutely chucking. I find the Clapton outputs much greater density which is a vape attribute I favor greatly over volume

Can you give me a link ? That's very affordable for a custom made piece. It may be nice to have one. Thanks for the info !

If this is the link he only has white right now which won't work for me.

Floris Box

Edit - never mind I found it.

So you build them. And I see the has some regulated to build. That could be a fun project. I need to look back in the cc thread someone posted about a spring loaded 510. I guess you need a 510 but what else to complete the build ? Mech build should be simple. .

He has white and black, then all different doors. Only the carbon fiber have magnets, the others are friction fit...

And? And?

Spill the beans! (please?)

P.S. blue penguin acquired!

Definitely a fine addition to the collection. Sure it's just another dna40 squonk box, but this one has a feel all its own. Very nice in the palm of the hand. Finish is outstanding. Besides, needed a place to park the O16. ;)

Blue penguin ay? Congratulations!

Come on lady, don't be shy...:D

Alright, that was the final push I needed. Delrin Lukkos is next on my list.

I am currently traveling, so I haven't gotten home to the blue yet. There will be pics this weekend though!

Looks great! Did you have the hole pre-drilled? If so what size? I'm thinking 10mm is what I want.

I'll have a short build thread up in the modding forum soon! Just here to share pics ;)
