What's the conversion cost?

Yes it is! I have the base version in walnut as well and it is a mech. I much prefer the mosfet to the mech with this switch design. I'm planning on sending the mech in to get refitted for a mosfet soon as I find myself using it less than the other. The freehand S is such an elegant design and just feels amazing in hand.

I can't remember exactly but I do recall it being pretty reasonable - basically the difference between the retail price of either mech or mosfet, probably with a small service fee added on. There is a US location to mail the mod to and then they take care of any international shipping if it needs to go back to europe.

As for the mosfet upgrade, yes, you can ship it to us anytime for the upgrade. Price for the upgrade is 30 eur (if you have Piezo connector) and 35 eur (if you don't have Piezo connector).

I have done all mine with silver contact plates. Haven’t felt the need for those with brass and copper ones. Nice little touch at a very reasonable price. This also got upgraded today;
