This mod is sick though - the tank telescopes down into it so no one knows ya got a tank and the tank is protected.

Well now that the Christmas cheer is winding down I thought I'd address your insult that I must admit that I missed upon the first reading. I thought it was a language translation thing but then when I re-read it I realized that you said "how much do I charge to praise something".
Well that could have a short answer - something like "dude what a (insert words that rhyme with ducking sick here) thing to say".
It could have a funny answer like "my going rate is $13,000 and a beejay from the mod makers wife if I find her acceptable. if not $13,050)".
Then there is the answer that I, were I standing in your shoes, would find the most helpful with my apparent ignorance. Here is that answer:
I'd want someone to point out that in my ignorance I never realized that the mods being praised need no help selling. In fact, some are very difficult if not nearly impossible to obtain.
I'd also want someone to point out that no one is giving these mods away and in some cases the only way to get one is to pay flipper prices or to know someone who knows someone.
I'd like to someone to inform me that there is an entire squonking world outside of ECF where there are thousands of squonking vapers all around the world to interact with. That said, there are a handful squonk mod makers who's mods are praised for their durability, form and function that you will probably never hear talked about on ECF. But you will hear and see REOsmods discussed because they are world wide legend. I own two that will remain with me till I no longer take up space on this planet.
In my ignorance, I'd ask "why are the mods you praise not discussed on ECF?" Well the answer to that is because they (the modders) don't have a thread or a forum.
Additionally many people who have realized that there are much more user friendly, genre specific interfaces than a forum to discuss their vape, see a much broader spectrum of the squonk world and to interact with modders quite simply start to use ECF much less if at all.
In closing I'd want to know that the guy I just insulted pays for all his mods. Yep. Every single mother blanking one. I've gotten a few kick ayuss gift mods from Rob - one I have, one my mother has and one was sent to a friend in Brazil. I also sent him one of my personal grands.
There's been a few mods that I was given a discount on because I'm just a Vaping rockstar baby, yeah, signing breasts at vapecons, making huge YouTube cheese, reviewing every vape product ever made and rolling 157,000 subscribers deep. Yeah, I'm real special.
So yeah, I've learned that there are some killer, durable, extremely well made regulated mods that cost the same or less as the average "newer" breed of mechs do here on ECF. They come from Italy. I was fortunate to acquire my first one second hand for $425 about 2.5 months ago. And since I'm some "cool vape celebrity charging people to praise things" I just sold it to a dude we know both here and on FB for a handsome profit. Not. I sold it to him for less than I paid.
As I have all my gear.
I have since purchased three other Sunboxes - one second hand - the delrin E8 for 300, a brand new E8 for around 450 and a brand new E7 for around 350. The mod maker did gift me special doors cause remember, I'm just a freakin rockstar bro. He needs rockstar power to sell his mods. Not.
Then I realized that I like the feel of delrin so I took the proceeds from the one I raped that one guy for and bought the delrin SVA. These mods sell so fast that many never make it to our shores. But I have a friend on FB who has bought much product from the reseller and was able to get one which they are being kind enough to let me buy - at a discount.
So I decided that over the last three years I've dropped my mods twice. And I realize I like delrin. So I traded my red E8 for that delrin E7 in the pic. Yep the E8 costs about 150 more but I figure I've raped so many vapers I could afford to take a 150 loss for a plastic mod. Truth is, the CF kit and 1/15 SN make it worth about 100 more so I only lost 50 or so.
So the moral to this story is:
1. There is a whole world outside ECF.
2. I'm nobody.
3. If I'm anybody, it's because I have spent a bunch of my time and money trying to help others get a great vape. It would take a bunch of free $400 mods to scratch the surface of the costs of hardware, software, long nights and purchased gear that I have invested in myself but try to use what I learn to help others.
4. Try to be cool to others. Don't be a di ck. Being a Di ck will not get you far in life.
5. Don't hate. Ask yourself: what have I ever done to help another vaper or advance Vaping?
6. Don't be afraid to try out vape products that people you trust highly recommend.
No need to explain your passion nor your methods Russ, your reputation in the world of the vape speaks for itself my brother.
Russ, your enthusiasm & passion for squonking never has to be explained or justified. Thanks to your videos I found Reoland which has led me to other squonkers & modders. Keep doing what you're doing, we could use a lot more like you. Merry Christmas brother.
You praised pdib's Nuppin' atomizer, then literally browsed to Catfish's thread and dissed it. You didn't "change your mind", you constructed two completely different opinions for (what you perceived as) two separate audiences. Perhaps you aren't being compensated for your opinions and promotions. This actually makes it worse, not better, because it makes your behavior capricious and reckless, instead of calculated and purposeful.
To you, this is all just a kick [edited] game, to these folks, it is their livelihood and food on their childrens' plates.

I'm sure plenty will defend your irresponsible behavior, much like they defend Five Pawns for lying about selling poison juice, because we are all "one big vape family". Sheep do that sort of thing, that's why they inevitably become sweaters and dinner.

A newly released blue penguin slim, at a discount to someone who is new to the Italian mod market and hasn't put in months of effort to obtain one comes off as suspicious, Russ. If you will consider this, you will understand why people are questioning.
As long as I am buying my gear I will continue to offer my opinion on it.
But seriously, is my opinion and video power that influential as to affect the "livelihoods of people". Ummm. Ok. Wow. Hopefully it affects people in a good way.
That said I'm not gonna defend sh it there, Mate. I'll buy whatever the F I please and if I find something I think I may like better I'll try to buy it too. And if I no longer like something there's damn good chance I'll sell it.

It's no big story of rockstar like vape celebrity fame just the case of being in the right place at the right time and the seller doesn't even know (as far as I know) that it's for me. The discount is for my FB friend and their just being cool and passing it to me. Wish it were more exciting like "super celebrity redneck rockstar vaper gets rare brand new mod at a discount by maker" but it ain't. And the discounts like $20. Lol

Squonkers paradise classifieds on FB and Sunbox lovers only group on FB. There's several up in both places now. I also purchased direct from the maker as have many others.
There's been at least three FS here in the classifieds in the last three months. Add to the fact that Super X does have some notoriety in the vape community & finding three or more of them doesn't seem that hard. Regardless of whether you're insinuating something or just being curious if Super did use some of his pull to get a Sun Box ( I'm not saying he did, nor am I saying I'd care since I have no interest in DNA40 mods) wouldn't the seller, whether a fan or Mfr share some if not all of the responsibility? I don't see why people are so up in arms about some redneck getting some supposed rare box mod? Why doesn't the Mfr step up to the plate & make more if it's so detrimental to their livelihood?
Hello bwhitt, as you obviously already know, Sunbox mods are in very high demand as with many of the higher end mods. With that being said, I currently have four, none of which were purchased new. I purchased mine just as Russ did by being diligent, joining various groups on social media and making friends. In fact two of my units were purchased (used) from one of those very same friends I developed a relationship with. Not until recently and with the timing lining up just right was I able to connect with Volpi to obtain my first "new" unit which is currently on the way. The high end game is not without time and effort and it is up to the individual as to whether or not the juice is worth the squeeze. Common social skills go a long way towards making things happen...

Russ, this isn't about whether you have been critical of devices I like, devices I played a role in developing, or devices made by friends. If anything, I always found you were not critical enough in your opinions. Further: I bought 4 Odins, one of my favorite atties, based on your video review.
This is about you voicing different opinions in different places about the same product. Stop being a sycophant. If you don't like something about the Nuppin', just say it, and if anyone flames you for it, tough luck to them, they can do their own bloody review.
But you can't go praising the Reo's durability and tossing it from your window onto asphalt, dissing the Peko for not being as durable (which: challenge you on that opinion) and then collecting plastic mods that I assure you would not survive a similar window toss test (I've seen the guts of these mods, those solders are held together by faith and fortune).
It's simply unfair.
Yes, I'm being mean to you on Christmas Day. I know for a fact you have a thick skin, like me. Tough love is better than no love at all.
