It is a really nice block. Thinking maybe amboyna burl? Lots of imperfections to give character.
Thinking Peter would reject this block. But it's beautiful

I used to own a bunch of high end squonk gear. I'd be remiss if I didn't acknowledge that these humble rigs rival or surpass the vape my fancy stuff provided. The Pico Squeeze paired with the Geek vape Ammit rda is as good a squonk rig as I've ever experienced.

Compact, damn near leak-proof, flavorful and inexpensive.

Hi Nath!

I'm a few days into a Dovpo Topside.

Ugly as ..... And will probably die within a year. But I don't loathe anything about it. It just works. No bullstuff.

I've previously favoured custom made too. Many of which I have hated far more than this Topside :)

@Rossum I think I'm getting an idea of how much I'll have to shell out for a beautiful mod. Here's an example Helmet by Gprov Mods - S4 $500:shock: is a bit more than I'm willing to spend. I guess my question is: is there anything in the $300 range that's just as lovely? Also, is vaping art the best site to look or are there other sites I should be checking?
Hi Chels

The only way that I can see these days is join groups on Facebook. There are very much still around those individual specialist who make some stunning pieces....here's an example....

I have some beautiful wood mods (although they are all long retired). They were bought direct from the craftsmen via their phone, email or web page on their site. The fly in the tea cup you mention is FB. That source has always kept the elitist gear hawked there off my buying lists.

Yes I know what you mean! My facebook usage started because of advertising campaigns due to the property business and before that point I avoided it like the plague. Once I was drawn in however i've found that there is a lot of ''mainstream'' vape stuff being sold there. What I mean by mainstream is that it's the stuff that we all know about but is really difficult to get....

The point i'm making is the way that a lot of the innovative makers start off is via FB these days and not on forums like in the past....for example the REO's were available only on here at one time were they not??

And if you're thinking that none of the oldies and goodies exist anymore/not being done anymore then you are wrong....they do still exist but they are all on FB. Those who's businesses take off to a big enough market do end up either with their own website or by being sold on other platforms.....but there are a lot who haven't reached that stage.....it's worth having a look for those products if nothing else :)

I go for function first. Bottle placement, button placement, size, contact material (tells me how much maintenance it needs), the way the bottle or button is installed, ect. Then i look at aesthetics. If it isn't comfortable, then to me it doesn't matter what it looks like since it won't get any use.

Different strokes for different folks. Nothing wrong with that. My personal choice... there has never been nor will there ever be a mod of any kind (or anything else for that matter) that I want bad enough to join FB.

The ReoMeister sold the Reos via his own website, and the majority of his customers ran on his Reo forum here until he closed it March 2016 IIRC. The new owner reopened the ECF Reo forum here around a year and a half later but did nothing with it, seldom posted on it or even acknowledged posts made directly to him on it. Some of us 'old timers' tried hard to light a fire under him at first but to no avail. In part maybe because the massive Reo customer base Robert had earned didn't come back. Either way he did nothing to preserve the Reo legacy, so I turned in my Reonaut Badge and left this summary before leaving the forum a long time ago:
lvrcx.jpg 0-reov3.jpg

Might be more I don't know about, but at least three of the oldie but not necessary goodie makers I've bought from are all the way gone. I got my best of the best tube mechs from Perseas at VapourArt, the Reos from Robert who is gone (I wouldn't buy anything from the new owner); and ProVape is long gone (but I don't consider that as being a negative). Any others that are on FB now matter not to me. As I recently posted I am well set with more than enough of the gear and supplies I prefer for what little is left of my life, and am not very interested in whatever new gear might come along is. So I am pretty much all the way done with buying gear.

+1000. That reminds me; I have a FB account that I created way back when. I can't remember when I last used it, and I really should delete it.
