SS and Temp Control Help!

New to SS and Temp Control. Wondering if ‘spaced’ coils are absolutely required using SS in temp control or can I use (Twisted/Vertabraid/Clapton etc. SS 316L wire) 'micro' coils (wraps touching) in temp control? I know I can use SS micro coils in wattage mode but unsure about using various wire micro coils in temp control.

Hardware:Cuboid, Griffin 24, Avocado 24, Tsunami 24, SS 316L wire.

Contact SS coils are fine for TC. Clapton too as long as the core wire is SS and has a lower resistance than the wrapping wire.
