Thanks for the great tips. Will try a New carto. Maybe its just faulty. Its basically just makes a gurgle sound but no draw. Also is it normal for my atomizer to gurgle so much?

The tank does spin freely while it is place but a Rep I chatted with told me that I should screw on the tank and it should stop and not continually spin. So I'm not sure what is going on

No, it is not normal for the carto to gurgle, with little or no draw. To me, those are the classic symptoms of a carto that's been hopelessly flooded. I say "hopelessly" becase sometimes they just never seem to recover, and you're better off just putting in a new one, and putting the old one aside for a good cleaning later.

Please tell us the EXACT sequence of steps that you took that led up to this. How you filled the tank, how you filled the carto, how much juice (in drops) you put in the carto, the works.

If the tank is full, you can put a new carto right into it without emptying it, even if the cartos are flanged. Lube up a new carto and slide it right into the tank from what is now the top which will become the bottom. Child's play. Then fill the tank and prepare the carto exactly as I described.

And ask the rep what is supposed to keep the tank from rotating around the carto. (???)

I Dont know that the carto is tight enough because the tank never stops spinning but once I give it a few turns more the tank can spin both ways.

I watched a video off the net how to fill the tank then they said to put your finger on the bottom and suck a little until the carto is saturated.

And also my atomizer is gurgling. And I only put in 5 drops Max.

Please study the physics involved in the relationship between the 510 connection on your PV, the cartomizer, and the tank. Then please try putting in a new carto, and filling the tank and carto exactly as I described.

How are your cartos punched? One hole? Three holes? No holes?

There had better be a hole (or 2) in the side of the carto inside the tank!

This is how I fill my cartos & tanks.
    J Tank Filling - YouTube!

    Note:
If you are using a carto with a flange on the bottom, you need to refill from the top instead of the bottom, but it works exactly the same.
When refilling a tank, never take the top cap off. You will pressurize the tank when you reinstall the top cap if you do. Just slide the carto up or down to refill.

Will do and thanks. You said I can switch the carto without taking existing fluid from the tank. Wont that allow juice to get into the top of the carto? As far as I have read that's a no no. Or are people saying just not to fill it from there?

Oh and there is a small hole near the thread. Only one.

No, doing that will not allow a problematic amount of juice to enter the top of the new carto. The tops of the two cartos will be pressing tightly against each other, allowing virtually no juice to enter the new one getting slid up from the bottom.

You will also probably want to either punch your cartos as tj has done, or slot them like PBusardo does:

A PBusardo Tutorial - How I slot my cartos!.wmv - YouTube pbusardo slotting cartos

One tiny hole doesn't really "cut it" IMO, especially with juices with higher VG content since it's thicker than PG.

Thanks. What do you mean by "two tops of the carto"? Do you suggest I leave the white cap that comes with the new cartos while pushing it in?

I mean that you will be pushing the top of the new carto against the top of the old carto that you are driving out of the tank. What was the top of the tank will be the bottom of the tank when you have pushed the new one through.

I immediately remove and discard the white caps, having never been able to discern a use for them, with the possible exception of using them as some sort of dust cover for cartos that you're not using at the moment and might want to store or transport.

I suppose you could leave/put them on the cartos as you push the new carto into the tank, but I think that the transition of the tops of the cartos past the inner o-ring will be smoother if the tops of the cartos are pressed tightly against one another instead of being slightly separated from one another as would be the case if the white caps were in place on the cartos.

My cartos only go in one way. From bottom to top

Are you saying that they have flanges on them? Even if they do, if the end caps are functionally the same you can pretty much disregard which is the "top" one and which is the "bottom" one.

On a Smoktech DCT, you can turn the tank upside down and then push a new cartomizer through the "top" cap (which is now on the bottom", forcing the old cartomizer out through the "bottom" cap, which is now on the top.

DCT tanks have a top and bottom cap. The bottom cap has a recessed area that matches the flange on the carto. The DCT is so slippery that the flange needs to be "locked" in the recess in order to provide enough grip to screw on the carto. This recessed area acts like a wrench of sorts, screwing the carto in by the flange. If you turn the tank upside down, it will still work, but you may have a problem with the tank just spinning around the carto instead of screwing it in. Lacking the assistance of that recess, which is now on top, you may need to find a way to grip the carto itself in order to turn it. You won't be able to screw it in just by turning the tank.

In theory, yes. In practice, not so much. The recessed area is either inadequate, or missing completely. Using an unflanged carto is a virtual non-issue for me, and allows you to take advantage of vastly greater selection of cartos in various resistances and number of coils (one, please), as well as take advantage of screamin' deals like Boges for 92 cents each.

    Post #221 - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-ego-c-twist-game-changer-24.html#post6387951

"What I've found is that I don't see or feel the need for a flange, especially since Smoktech badly screwed up the design of the bottom piece of the DCT tank so the flange on the carto either A) engages very poorly if at all with the molded-in flat spots on the bottom cap, negating much of its purpose (keeping the tank from spinning around the carto upon removal of the tank from the PV/APV), or B) has no chance of engaging since no attempt was even made to mold flat areas into the bottom cap of the tank.

The addition of a trim ring over the eGo threads keeps the tank from sliding down - problem solved. And a carto without a flange allows you to replace the carto even on a full tank by simply sliding a new one in from the top of the tank, which then becomes the bottom of the tank. [Come to think of it, you can do it with flanged cartos as well - duh].

Coincidentally, I just did it about ten minutes ago when the draw started getting a little hard. Insanely easy, and very convenient. Gotta keep those great vapes going in this war on cigarettes we're fighting. Keep your powder dry, and your cartos moist!

Crystal Clear Vaping has a very good deal on 15-packs of 2.0 and 3.0 ohm single-coil XL stainless steel cartos. They're presented as being Boge's, but the box just says "Atomized Cartridge", and has markings on the side saying "Dekang Inside" and "SGS". (Anyone know if these really are Boge?). At any rate, they work great, with no funny taste. The 2.0's tend to run a little higher than that - generally around 2.2 - which makes them just about PERFECT. Hands-down the ideal cartomizer to use in a Twist. Single coil, right in the Twist's volt/amp wheelhouse.

Crystal Clear Vaping $21.70 for 15 - $1.45 each. Pretty tough to beat".

[Except for the good folks at PureVapes]:

    http://www.surevapes.com/Boge-Mix-n-Match-5-Boxes_p_114.html .92 each (!)

    ***

I keep the trim ring (recommended for eGo-class batteries) screwed on tight to make sure it doesn't contact the bottom of the tank, and I rarely have any trouble at all simply unscrewing the tank and carto from my Twists. Once, I had to take a pair of pliers and gently grab the top of the carto where ot protrudes out of the "top" cap. Presto.

    You're welcome :)

Right on John D, I never would have thought to change my carto that way! It's so simple but genius, save juice too.

    It's not me, it's the nicotine :)

    Abstract:

Nicotine reportedly improves covert orienting of spatial attention, but enhanced alertness may also play a role. The present study explored nicotine effects on measures of spatial attention and alertness in non-smokers. Nicotine was delivered to 17 non-smokers (data from 12 subjects were analyzed) by a 7-mg transdermal patch (one patch in a low-nicotine condition; two patches in a high-nicotine condition). We examined nicotine's effects on spatial attention using a covert orienting task with central, predictive cue stimuli. Nicotine effects on alertness were examined with EEG and subjective questionnaires. Blood was drawn and serum levels of nicotine are reported. Nicotine decreased overall reaction times in the covert orienting task. There was no change in the validity effect, the reaction time difference between validly and invalidly cued targets. However, nicotine significantly improved both EEG and self-rated measures of alertness. We conclude that nicotine increases alertness in non-smokers.
