SS Cable Rope

Not sure if this is posted in the correct fourm,but i have been using the same SS cable rope with a top mesh wrap over the cable for 3 months solid with not changing of wire or cable or mesh,is this normal,seem like i wont have too buy a wick ever again,all i do is do a quick dry burn between tank fills.

You'll eventually need to replace the mesh, and the coil, but the SS cable will last forever.
