Hey all. Long time. Was wondering if anyone out there has or knows for sure if you can use stainless steel coils in non TC mode. I have an innokin cool fire IV plus I haven't used much lately but I ordered some 0.5 ss bvc coils instead of my regular clapton bvc coils maybe by accident but I was thinking I read a few different accounts of ss being no problem with non TC.... Until today I got the coils.

Yes,you can, that's all i use now is stainless and i do not use temp control. In fact,i even run stainless on my mech mods, which obviously don't have temp control haha.

Edit-I don't use those prebuilt coils though,i just noticed your picture says only use with temp control. Not sure why, unless they use a different stainless wire than i do,but i think stainless wire should all be the same.

Yeah the wording on the box worries me. I emailed innokin but I was sure you could use ss in non TC....

No problems in power mode at all.

That's what I thought but should I worry about innokins warning about battery explosion on the ss coil package?
As long as the resistance is above tge minimum resistance should be NO problem.

Battery. Exploding is usually only a problem on mech mods.

Regulated mods are much safer. Just don't go too low on your resistance.

At least 3 different stainless alloys in use and some wire is better than others. If it only says "stainless" I assume 316L; not 304 or 317.

My Coolfire runs stainless in both. Somtimes it is the same coil depending on my mood : >

I wouldn't assume that. There are many many alloys of stainless steel. If something was just labeled 'stainless', it could be one of many things. I wouldn't assume 316L. It's more expensive than 304.
