SS mesh as a filler material to atomizer heads?

After running yet again into issues with liquids, that gunk up my coils inside my Tobeco Super tank started to wonder why there aren't any clearos using mesh as filler?
Is it due to issues of having a conductive material inside a metal shell, wicking issues with mesh a just a CONSPIRACY to sell more stuff?

SS Mesh and SS Cable have been used in Genesis style tanks for a while. SS Mesh is an excellent wicking material, has to be cut diagonal and rolled to allow for best capillary action as possible, clean and flavorful. Downsides, have to really work with it, as in build a carbon insulation layer between it and the coil to prevent shorts and hot spots, dry hits and hot spot hits are murderous on the throat. A lot of times until that carbon layer is really built up, get an SS wick running good, will work all day long the same way, set it aside for the night, had to rework all the hotspots out again in the morning.

I've heard of people using SS Mesh in Protank coil heads before, just have to research Genesis tanks, then carefully experiment with it to your application the best advice I can give.

Yeah, have had my moments with gennies, so the principle is known and I once had one running in my PT, but the point about building up the needed carbon layer is valid, in modern times when everything needs to happen NOW having to spend some time is a major no go.
