SS rope wick & kanthal ribbon on a Cobra

I think it is actually easier, and definitely quicker than a traditional SS mesh wick to set up.
Flavour is good, and it wicks very well, putting out plenty of vapour. I like!

I did the same on mine , wicks so much better now with no need to tilt it at all

I've been using Kanthal A1 ribbon wire for a while and I'm wondering if you've ever been able to make a double-wick set-up work. I have the same Cobra tank that you're using, ss mesh, and the ribbon wire on a ProVari Mini. I've tried wrapping 6 coils around each wick, which is the most I can get based on the height of the center post, and it still registers on the ProVari as "Lo". Do I need to wrap more coils? Less coils? Do it in a completely different way? Any help is appreciated.

By the way, where's the best place to get the ss rope you're using and is that oxidized mesh around the tip?

A dual coil setup will halve the overall resistance. A 4/5 wrap of A1 ribbon (0.5mm) for me yields 1.6 ohms. 2 of these coils would yield around 0.8 ohms. I can't find what the ProVari's actual low resistance threshold is, but I'm inferring from posts that its somewhere in the neighborhood of 1-1.2 ohms.

The ribbon is 9.35 Ohms/ft (0.763 ohms/in). So remembering that we are going to halve the resistance in a dual coil set up, and the provari will fire 1.2ohm (to be safe) and above, we're looking for individual coil resistances of 2.4ohm, or about 3.3 inches of ribbon per coil.

Also nice vid OP. I've been reluctant to try SS rope but in the past week I've seen nothing but more and more praise for it....

I'm using ss rope with my rsst and it wicks great. I no longer have to do the genny tilt. However, I feel like it has muted the flavors a bit. For example, when I first tried sour peaches in an evod it had a very sour taste to it. Now that I have some in the rsst with a wire and mesh setup...the sourness has been toned down quite a bit.

You do blow clouds though with how well it wicks.
