"Same s%^& different day" with the EVOD's I just got. Noticed diminishing flavor after about 4 days, put it on the back burner for my bread and butter (direct dripping), saw the wicks on the EVOD atty gunked up and darkened hard, tried to clean it with hot water / syringe blasting hot water into the gunk. The wicks looked good, I waited about 2 hours to let it dry, set it all back up and I'm getting thin, 15% hits from when I first filled it. Put a new atty on it (how did I know to buy 2 extras? because I've been burned by cartos before?) and it's back to greatness.

Anything special I can do? This topic has probably been burned to the ground but honestly e-cig forum has gotten bigger than is useful and I didn't see a definitive answer through search. Am I really looking at replacing the atty every 7-10 days? Or am I doing something wrong? I used 80/20 pg/vg juice, Bandersnatch AiV, it's thinner but medium dark.

I'm just frustrated that I had to hit the backup so damn soon. How long are others getting with EVOD attys?

Dry burn it. Open it up Thane the center shaft out as well as the top wicks pity it on a battery and give it as the above poster said quick pulses until you begin to see the red glow of the coil after that assemble fill and cape. The first 10 more less his will have a burnt taste, don't worry it will fade soon

I use a lot of EVOD's and T3's. The wick / coil can be easily cleaned by pumping some everclear in and out of it with a syringe and doing dry burns. The object is to not only get the gunk off of it with dry burns but also to get any particulates out of it using the ethyl flush (wicking needs the capillary action and particulates stuck in the wick will interfere). I remove the base from the tank, stick a toothpick in the bottom hole and flush through the air stem.

But ... 10 days (assuming heavy vaping) out of a $1.50 or so replaceable head isn't bad is it? Maybe just toss the head and replace with new once a week?
