I am not new to Lithium Ions or IMR's but I have always stayed away from stacking. I do have a few mods that use two batteries in parallel. I like to be over cautious and always check my batteries with a DMM. That being said I just purchased a smoktech vmax that uses stacked 18350's. I do know to always mark the batteries to make sure they are being used as a group and that they should be checked before and after use. I have two questions. First being that I always read to make sure the batteries off the charger are similar. How close is similar? If one reads off the charger at 4.12 and the other is at 4.14, is that ok? Same question for after use. If after use one measures at 3.17 and one at 3.09, is that ok? Not sure when to draw the line and disgard the set. Last question, is running batteries in parallel the same as stacking? Should the same parameters be in place when using them in parallel. Thanks

I stacked with my SB for about a month and had no problems at all. IMO, less than a tenth apart on the volt meter is ok and is not a problem. I did the same thing as you and marked the two batteries as a group and didn't have any problems at all. My only issue with the stacking was that the vapor was too hot for my taste at a straight 6v. That's the only reason that I went to a VV LT Clone.

As far as the stacking and parallel goes, they are not the same thing. I know that much, but anything technical on why I will have to defer to someone more knowledgeable.

I bought a new device some time ago and faced a problem: stacked or normal batt?? So i hit the www and looked for where you use on a daily basis stacked batts and normal ones. People don't realise how many stacked devices are we using....... So point one was done, point two was the safety... Batts will always have problems, not just type a,b or c but all !! I don't think stacking on its own is dangerous but what we do with the extra power (!!). Many devices are made in China where there are no quality control just boom bash and made another one. Tests??? Yeah we are the dummies in many devices and they are made better with the feedback from it. So is stacking dangerous?? If you obey the basic rules (always use the same type, charge at the same time, change order every time after charging, ventilate the recipient etc. etc.) then the answer is NO. Ok there always will be the possibility of having a defekt device and it may blow up in your face (NOOOO, wrong statement) but not because of stacking batts that were handled through the basic rules........

What did i buy?? Yep, stacked and very happy with it !!!! Smoktech Vmax V2.... Could have bought a provari, Ltube or other device but untill now no problems ata all..
