Stainless steel Boges are thinner

Is it just me, or are the stainless steel Boge cartos not good for the "condom" method of filling?

I've used the condom method successfully with black Boges. But Boges without the black stuff is thinner in diameter. So doing a condom fill results in juice seeping up around the exterior.

I've noticed it too. The black ones have a sticker on them, that I think makes up the difference.

Yes, the reason you have more problems condom filling the SS Boge's is because it's metal, as opposed to the black coating on the black ones. I even have more problems getting the condoms off of the SS vs the black ones. It's the coating that makes the difference.

Edited to add: Since the black cartos are just SS with a black coating, they would be alittle thicker.

I agree. I use the condom method on both with no problem. Slow and easy in general is better because you want to make sure the bottom of the wick gets saturated.
