WOW!!!!
The reasoning behind modern regulated mods is so that you can use ultra low resistance safely.
Below .2 ohms is a bomb looking for a place to go off with a mechanical!!!!
Running that battery at +20 amps just means that you need to change batteries constantly.
I'm not so sure about that. I use SS in all my mechs. They're all set up in single coil mode, 24ga spaced. They ohm out at about .3-.35. Ramp up is fast. After 7mls (1 bottle) I refill and swap the battery. Usually it's between 3.7 and 3.8 volts on the charger.

I use SS coils for my regulated mods in TC mode, but would use kantal for my mechs because I don't taste a difference in the wires and I build the exact same coil whether it be SS or kanthal, but kanthal will give me a higher resistance so I feel safer.

Let's not forget that although SS resistance is lower that Kanthal, the SS resistance rises with heat, so a .2ohm coil can rise to .3ohm. This allows for fast ramp up without taxing available amps from batts in a mech.

I've used 26ga SS316L for years on mechs and regulated mods. Safe and effective.
