Why do you want to use Stainless? SS is a difficult material to machine, the higher the chromium the more difficult it becomes to cut.
Consider copper, its easier to machine, has better conductivity, and comes in the sizes you need.
Check out Mac Master-Carr for materials... they have EVERYTHING for prototyping/designing...

As stated above - Stainless can be a hard(er) material to work with, especially if you don't have any experience with machining it.

It may be in your best interest to start with a material that's a little more forgiving. Otherwise, you may find yourself very frustrated and your wallet a little lighter too.
