here's the problem: you have to think about a vape rig as an electronic circuit. as such, you have a power source (provari, k100 etc), and a load (atomizer). if you are winding a 1.2ohm coil out of 28ga kanthal, at 3.7 volts, that will run you about 3.08 amps. now, there are 2 limitations on how many amps you get out of your power source (provari): the regulator board in the provari, and the batteries that you put in the provari. provaris are rated at 5 amps, so the board should not be limiting your current. your batteries however, could be limiting your current and killing your smoke. how long does it take to glow red once you hit the button? if it's more than 3-4 seconds, i would think that maybe your batteries aren't putting out enough power to heat up your coil.

conclusion: use 30ga kanthal, start with a 4/5 wrap and go from there. try 4cm x 4cm piece of mesh to start and trim to length, ensure you cut the bottom (tank) end of the wick at an angle. also, i don't know if you wrap your coils on the wick or on a dowel, but i've had good luck with rolling the wick so that it barely drags when putting it in the hole, and using a dowel to roll the coil. the dowel fits in the hole without much wobble, but not tight either.

i know this is a lot of info, but everybody's got opinions on this stuff. try to stay away from 28 ga kanthal unless you're doing mech mods. 30 ga should do you just fine

Jarod,
Thanks a lot for all the info. I think you pinpointed my problem exactly right. It takes a little more than 3-4 seconds to glow and the glow is not that red. It's kind of orange. However l, the same wrap (and everything else being the same) on a mechanical mod (diablo hybrid) works perfectly fine.
ill make a wick 4cm and let you know the result. Also I will use the 30 gauge instead of 28. Thanks again
