if no use mesh to cover the top part of the mesh, u will get alot of hotspots. cos the cable is uneven. just use those used mesh. u will need about 1cm of mesh only

Is wrapping a mesh really required? I damn lazy to use ss mesh, that's why wanted ss cable instead.

How about making ur own ss rope. There's a discussion in the RBA forum. Twist 3-7 mini ss mesh wicks together. Troublesome but worth the effort. Tried it and it was wicking way better even with the fill screw on. But its true that the coil may not be properly in contact with the wick. Needs quite abit of work.

And yes with the DIY ss rope wick you won't need to tilt unless you chain vape excessively at >20 watts. Which i do so I still have to tilt lol.

Wah.. sounds very interesting.. I can't even get my #500 mesh to wick properly.. very much a noob at genny.. only did my 2nd wick and coil.. any experts care to give me some pointers? I use 3.5cm by 4cm but cant wick unless I tilt it for awhile.. has a hole in centre of wick so I dunno what I'm doing wrong..

Fyi, I never oxidize whole wick.. use the pulse method only with 1.6 ohm 32ga coil..

using a mesh type atty is like drinking a bottle of water. the lesser the liquid or juice in there, the more tilting u need. and make sure the airhole and mesh is aligned and point downwards

And make sure u dun shut tight the fill hole. Do leave one hold open or at least some air to get in, if not u will realise that no matter how well u have setup ur wick, it won't wick well at all.

I did.. I'm using aga t2 and have 2 wickholes.. used 1 for mesh and the other was not obstructed.. my juice is also more than half tank.. I tilt to vape too.. but just that the wick not wicking fast enough than it burns.. even when I'm on 3.5volts on provari.. lolx..

should I try thicker mesh or thinner mesh for better wicking?

for my aga-t2, i used a 4.5cm(H) x 7.5cm #500 mesh, height of mesh was shortened to the same height of the pole. No probs soo far, been performing excellent in fact. Huge vapor and flavour is good. To me there's kind of a break in period for a new mesh. It will get much much better after the first tank.

For SS mesh it's normal to tilt for better wicking, unless ur using ss cable, that's where the magic begins, lol...bro ur ss mesh what size? If 400 shud be ok for PG or VG, or maybe u roll ur wick too thick and tight till it cover the whole wick hole?

The higher your VG, use lower # mesh.
