Zoid, do you use vinegar straight or diluted? I'm thinking of using it next time I clean a batch in my ultra-sonic instead of distilled water.

BTW What Brand/Model of Ultra-Sonic Cleaner do you have? I can't seem to find one that the reviews for it are Half Love it and Half Hate it.

I ran a batch last night using vinegar and it worked great. The Trent has a timer limit of 480 sec, so I ran 3 cycles using straight vinegar. I followed that with a plain water rinse under the faucet and good dry burn. Then back in the tank for one more cycle in vinegar, then a final cycle using distilled water.

The wicks came out very clean; I've only tried using one of them so far, but it's working like new.

I should mention that I remove the seal and cone while cleaning. You have to tip the Stardusts up when you put them in the tank so that they fill up with vinegar/water.

I'm very happy with the Trent ultra-sonic cleaner, it will pay for itself many times over at this rate. :thumb:

Good Deal Randy.

Vinegar is Great for Cleaning all kinds of things. Works good when poured down a Slow Drain. Removes Rust without Pitting. Non-Toxic and Cheap also.

The Only problem with it is it Doesn't Taste very good with Dr. Pepper and ice. Vodka works Much better.

all I did is put straight distilled white vinegar into stardust, shake it up, let it sit a bit, the shake it out...refill with hot water, shook THAT up then drained that. Blew it out, let it sit to dry and VOILA! All good :)

That works.

I do something Similar with a CE2.
