Hi all....I have some questions about the Stardust. I have a couple of them...love how they vape, taste was great at first, etc. When I have gone to switch flavors, or even just in between every couple of fills, I cleaned them out just like many of the videos that I have seen shared on the forum have shown. (take them apart, rinse with warm water, which I run water through it numerous times, shake, etc, then do the dry burns...rinse again, and let sit overnight or until totally dry)

Anyway..when i fill them now, I get a few good hits, and then the taste starts to be very burnt. I even notice the juice turning darker even just within an hour or so. Does anyone know what the problem could be? I haven't had these very long at all...I've maybe filled each one 4 to 5 times max. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Based on my experience, I'd say that your Stardusts have reached the end of their life. Stardusts are disposable vaping devices. I think rour or five fills is about as good as it gets.

Some people claim that they will last much longer than that. But I've had about 10 of them. I've tried every cleaning/resurrection technique that I've read. They either taste burnt, or produce no taste at all.

don't bother cleaning them. what i do is dump out the last .5 ml or so of my juice each fill, before refilling. i figure the worst of the gunk is there. might be worthless. but i think cleaning them is definitely worse than worthless, because you have to get them working again after rinsing/cleaning... which is like, boring as hell, and not enjoyable vaping.

Ive had 3 stardusts going strong for over a month. The taste seems to be a bit off now, but not burnt.

My cleaning process is thus:

- Pour out any remaining juice.
- Rinse with water and shake twice.
- Pull up the cup cap with a pair of thin hemostat pliers.
- Rinse with water and shake out about 5 times.
- Dry burn, short 5 second bursts. Take a break when things feel hot. Continue dry burn until coil burns bright red.
- Let it cool. Push cup cap back on with pliers.
- Fill.

There are a few stiff hits while it breaks in the wick again with the juice.

The strange thing is these 3 that Ive had for a month are the clear tube ones. I ordered some other colored ones and they have a burnt taste right out of the box. Ive tried cleaning and it still remains, I don't get it. Brand new colored ones with burnt taste, ones that are clear a month old with no burnt taste?

Anyway, I think its a solid product, but the taste consistency is off, even with the good working ones.

I think I'm ready to try a new product on top of my Kgo.

Thanks! This is exactly how I have been cleaning...except the last time around I felt like I was doing the dry burns forever (like a million 5 second bursts), so I never saw the coil turn red, but felt like I should stop because I was doing it for so long. I was thinking that might be the issue. About how many times do you dry burn before you see the coil glow red?

The Phoenix clearo is great if you are looking for something new.....you just have to make sure you fill it exactly the way the instructions tell you (theres also a video on the GotVapes site, and SteelJan did another one), if done properly, its by far the best vape I have had. GotVapes is out of them right now, but supposed to have new ones in about a week.
