I used my stardust for about a week and then decided to clean it. I'm new so I didn't know they needed to be cleaned more often or how. It's my only atty right now, so I tried to do a quick clean just by running some water through it and then letting it dry for an hour.

Now I'm getting intermittent taste, burnt taste, and a weird taste from it. Any ideas what is going on? I also don't know what a "dry burn" means. If anyone could explain things in layman's terms it would be appreciated.

I'm freakin' out here! The stress is making me wanna have an analog!

I shake the water around inside mine, and then shake it like crazy to get most of the water out, I've read some people dry them with hairdryers, some people pop out the center pin and silicone cap thingy and "dry burn" meaning they connect it to the battery and keep pressing the firing button at intervals and blowing out the smoke, they do this til the wick glows, and I guess then its dry? I've not done that though.

A dry burn is as Zooker said...reattach the cleaned stardust to the battery (don't put the silicone cup or mouthpiece on just yet). Hold the battery button for 5 secs, release. Blow the smoke out. Repeat until you see the coil glowing red. Put the cup back on, fill the stardust, add mouthpiece...vape away! I have just started using these clearomizers and have had great results cleaning them so far. You probably don't need to clean them weekly unless you use really dark liquids or see a loss in performance (of the Stardust...lol). Good luck!

Can a dry burn ruin the wicks? Or is it just the coil I should be worried about....err...which part is the coil? The long metal thing?

The coil you cant see without some removal of parts. The coil is a very thin wire that is coiled. In this case the coil is wrapped around the wick.

When you dry burn, look down inside the stardust...where the mouthpiece goes. Unless you have a great light, you won't really get a clear view of the coil. But, look down in the stardust....look into the center metal tube. The coil is wrapped (coiled) around the middle of the wick. As you dry burn you will see smoke/vapor curling out of the center tube....from the coil. Keep hitting the button in 5 second intervals until you see a good red glow from inside the center tube....the coil is revealed. I know this has a bit of a learning curve. There is a lot of info at the forum home page...in the ECF Library. Also, there are video's that cover about every aspect of e-cigs...use, cleaning, modding, etc. Just Google what you want to know about...I know you will find at least 3 or 4 videos that take you step-by-step through these things. I know...I had to see some of it rather than just read the words on how-to stuff. You'll get the hang of it...
