Stardust: Provari and Cleaning

I thought to do another Stardust video, this one to show it on a Provari and how I clean them. There may be a better way to clean them but this seems to work ok. I have pulled the silicon and washer out but I'm not sure if that really helps with cleaning it (though it's not that hard to put back in). I do wish there was an easier way to get at the wick to clean it. Honestly, they probably work best if you keep using the same juice in it and you cleaning as long as possible. Just means you need a Stardust for each juice!

Cleaning Update: I've been lifting the silicon/washer cap up to better clean the coil/wick per Lord Davon and that does help, but I had one Stardust that really had an off taste. We clean atomizers by soaking them in vodka so I thought why not give it a try. I filled the Stardust half-way with vodka and placed it upside down in a shot glass with about 1" of vodka in it. In other words, the aim was to soak just the coil and wick in vodka, not submerge the whole unit.

Anyway, next morning, I did a quick rinse to get the vodka out, pushed the silicon cap back on, blew it out, dry burned, then filled it. The flavor and vapor came back much faster than just a water cleaning and it tastes like it is brand new!

Vodka works great!

I just rinsed out with water, filled with vodka and gave it a good shake. Dry burned aggressively, rinsed again with Vodka, shook out as much as possible and viola!

wouldn't the best way to clean these be to just pull the plastic off? or will it not withstand that many times of coming on and off. I just tried it with one that the coil burned out on and it was fairly easy to pull it off, makes getting at everything a snap.

Definitely. I tried taking one off once but I was trying to detach it from the skirt which makes me an idiot. But after watching the Russian video on the other thread, I wa able to take one off and it will definitely help with cleaning and drying. Only downside I can see is pulling it on and off a lot will eventually stress the bottom gasket but I'm still going to start doing that. Need to make another video!
