Not sure why but I've seen disclaimers on manufacturers sites not to use ni200 / ti on non tc devices. Honestly, If your resistance is within safe operating parameters for your battery it should be fine.
Perhaps it's a concern where people would pump too many watts thru the wire on a high performance unregulated mod

I've been using the starre pro Ni200 coils on TC mods and non TC mods.
They work well on both, I had it on my Smoke XPro M80 at 50watts, and my evic-VT at 52watts, they perform well on both mods.
Never had a dry hit.
Please don't vape nickel without a TC mod. You'll heat the nickel to much and it'll give off toxins. It's meant for temperature control, so it doesn't heat up past its safe temp limit.

My Crown came with a .15 TC Coil and I'm vaping it at 480'F on a Cloupor GT 80
It's a great vape. I'll have to wait until 3 weeks to use the Stainless Steel .25 dual and compare.

The TC feature keeps nickel coils from getting too hot and possibly releasing toxic fumes.
The maximum safe Temperature on a TC is 600'f and that is what most of the mods stop at.

It is Highly recommended never to vape a TC Coil on a non TC mode/device. I've seen videos of TC Coils
being run dry on a TC Device and when working properly the mod regulated the temperature to where the cotton didn't even singe.

Okay so pre installed in this tank is a 0.25 ohm ni200. 20-80w. I don't understand the advantages (if any) of the nickle coil versus the kanthal. I'm not a big TC fan. The 0.25 kanthal is rated 20-120w. What will give better clouds?

I'm using the 0.25 ni200 on my smok m80 plus, at 650° farenheit and not that impressed.

Your problem is your mod not the coils. The M80 is one of the worst mods for TC. I ran a .15 ohm Starre Ni200 coil on my SX350J mod at 53W-450* and it was brilliant. Nice warm, dense, flavorful vape.
