Hi Wendy,
I have a similar background. My first couple of tries at switching didn't work out, but the equipment had improved enough (for me) that my third attempt was the charm. That was in 2013, so your options are even better now. There's hope for you yet!
I'd really recommend upgrading, even though you're familiar with what you have got. I recall seeing a study a few years ago saying that the proportion of people able to switch was higher with more recent equipment.
Are you familiar with recent developments? There are three main styles of vaping at the moment:
- Pod Mods - Low power, go through a tiny bit of juice, tend to use very high nicotine levels to compensate
- MTL (mouth-to-lung) - The mid-range option
- DL (direct lung) - High powered, uses a lot of low-nicotine juice
Nicotine levels can vary a lot, but the general idea is that each style can provide a similar amount of nicotine overall.
If you don't mind telling us what you're using now and what you like and don't like about it, we can probably suggest something that would suit you even better.
Good luck!
