and wow, can't believe how easy it was to switch to the e-cigarette.

Been smoking for 26 years, still embarassing for me to say it but there it is. I had tried everything on the market - and i'm sure most others have as well, zero success as I have very low willpower. Seen a discussion online about the kits and how many have quit. Best $100 spent on a kit - EVOD BCC.

Took my first puff on Wednesday, haven't had the urge to smoke a real cigarette since.

Welcome, and so glad it's going well for you. I'm more embarassed than you, because I smoked longer than you, about 45 years! I had never even attempted to quit in all those years before I decided to go the e cig route. I am still amazed and thrilled at how easy this has been so far.

There is a saying I like - "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear." I think I was ready for this.

Congrats! I had a very similar experience 8 months ago.

I'm just stunned at how natural it was, weird. Maybe I hit on the right juice - it's called "Black Gold", bought everything locally in Edmonton. The black gold has the taste of tobacco, good hit to the throat and a touch of vanilla. I lit up a cigarette yesterday, took a puff but it taste so bad - I know now that i'm done. My sense of smell is driving me nuts, can't stand being in my car - which I always smoked in.

The senses coming back after a few days of quitting was amazing to me also, and the stink of walking near a smoke hole at work is overwhelming. Walking through Walmart I can pick out the smokers just passing by in the aisles.
Its truly amazing to think, Did I smell that bad also?

Congratulations!! Welcome to the new (better feeling and better smelling) world!

Christmas Eve I bought a starter kit on my way to a bar party that had recently banned smoking. I kinda liked it...

Two days later, just like you, I could not stand the taste or smell of those other things. And, I had gotten too lazy to go smoke. I just grabbed my new toy. All of a sudden, I realized that I had accidentally quit smoking... and that I smell so much better!

Hang in there. It gets better as you find new flavors and bigger toys.

Not a one since then. Even in bars that allow smoking.

Been reading some of the other threads, interesting to see the other stories.

I don't consider myself to be quit smoking, just quit the cigarettes cause i'm still addicted to nicotine. I just don't stink like an ashtray anymore. Started off with 18 mg but found it strong for the first couple of days, little on the spacey side for a bit. Now I have one e-cig with 18 mg for the morning coffee routine, and the other e-cig running 12 mg for during the day, both black gold. I've tried other juices, but the black gold is the most effective for me.

You go, icyblack!!!

It was easy for me, too.

Bionic sense of smell is amazing, no? I can smell a cigarette 2 cars in front of me on a highway!!

Make sure you always have plenty of juice! Having 8 bottles on the shelf is way better than suddenly freaking out, and having to run to a store and get a bottle of some questionable juice. (I'm not even going to comment about buying a pack of smokes!!!)

And it gets better and better. Enjoy the gift of life!!!

Day 6, still no urge to have a cigarette...

Anyone else want their old sense of smell back?

Maybe I'm just weird, but I like to just sniff things. I feel like a Labrador Retriever sometimes, since I quit. Things that I thought were odorless before now have some complex bouquets. And don't get me started on my whiskeys! They all tasted good before, but my first sip of an 18-yr single-malt now? Mind. Blown.

The world pretty much stinks. Coffee is my other big addiction, and it doesn't taste right anymore.
I have 4 bottles of extra juice in the case, should do me for a while.

Atimmer, been trying to avoid liqour for the first week at least, i'm a lover of rye wiskey and bourbons - kind of nervous about that changing. Taste of beer hasn't changed much.
