Hello Everyone,

As a n00b to the world of e-cigs, I've decided to begin my adventure with the sleek new Joyetech eRoll. I just have a few questions:

1. I live in Amsterdam, The Netherlands - what are some good websites to order this product from? (Is this a good place to order?)
2. What kind of liquid should I order with my starter kit? Remember that I'm a n00b and want to start with something mild.

Thanks very much in advance to anybody who can answer these questions for me!

Cheers,
Anonym

Hi anonym9199 and welcome to ECF. Realize the eRoll accessories are proprietary. After 5 posts wait 1 hr for the ECF servers to reset and you can post in the Nederlands

Most new vapers begin at either 18 or 24 mg nicotine. How much do you smoke per day?

I don't know anything about European websites, being as I'm on the other end of the world. Sorry.

As for juice, it really is subjective. Find a place that will let you order small bottles and pick between a couple of flavors to start out with. Then get them starting at 1.2% (or 12 mg) and lower. But then I vape either 2.4% or 3.6%, so anything at 1.8% is mild for me and I get nothing from lower concentrations.

Good luck!

Thanks very much for your reply. On the website I'm looking at, liquids are listed as follows:

@37 e-liquid Black and Mild 11mg/ml MEDIUM 10ml 80% PG 20% VG
@37 E-liquid Gold & Silver 18mg/ml HIGH 10ml 80% PG 20% VG
...etc.

Can anybody tell me what those other numbers mean? Also, I'm not a very heavy smoker (except when I'm drunk!). I smoke 5 - 10 cigs per day.

LOLLL re: except when I'm drunk :laugh:
If you only smoke 5- 10 per day the eRoll will be perfect BUT many eRoll users had said they've had to "up" their nicotine level. Normally I believe 11 mg would be enough. A good idea to be in contact with your countrymen once you get your posts up to ask about diff vendors and juice.
@37 E-liquid Black and Mild 11mg/ml MEDIUM 10ml 80% PG 20% VG
@37 E-liquid Gold & Silver 18mg/ml HIGH 10ml 80% PG 20% VG
11= 1.1 % nicotine. 18= 1.8% nicotine

Juice Components
Flavoring usually about 15%- could be higher or lower depending on the flavor used.
PG ( Propylene Glycol- Food Grade)enhances flavor, TH and lung hit- water like
VG (vegetable Glycerin- Food Grade)= vapor and can mute flavor- thick
Nicotine- TH, lung hit and our need for nicotine. The MOST important ingredient in regards to TH and lung hit.
Standards in the industry are 80/ 20 or 70/ 30 PG/ VG.

If you only smoke 5-10 a day you should probably try 11mg, though you may want a higher concentration for when you're drinking.

The PG and VG are the liquids used to hold the nicotine and flavorings in suspension. PG is propylene glycol and VG is vegetable glycerin. The more PG the stronger the throat hit; the more VG the more visible vapor. 80/20 is a relatively standard concentration, though some people are allergic to high concentrations of PG or VG, PG allergies being more common.

Thanks again for the useful info. Unfortunately, the "Nederlands" board that you suggested is of no use to me because I'm not Dutch and I don't speak Dutch (I just happen to live here right now)! One more question if you have the time: what quantity of liquid should I get? How long would a 10ml bottle last?

Thanks for the replies. That tip about getting a higher concentration for when I'm drinking is pure gold - it's the best advice that I would have never thought of!

I think I'll get one bottle of 11mg and get one bottle of a higher concentration.

I love my eroll. It is a great device. Some things to know - it is not made for chain vaping. The carts are pretty small, and the system works best when it is used for a fairly short session -say 5-10 minutes, then returned to the pcc for 10-15 minutes. This way the cig stays at are near full charge and Will last all day. The good news is that it is actually very easy to use this way. If you find that you need to use it for 20 minutes out of each half hour, your battery will eventually not keep up with that schedule.

If you find that you can not keep to the intermittent schedule, upping the strength of the nicotine will solve that.

Also you should get a small pill case or something to store some pre-filled carts in if you are going to be out for a while. One cart can go pretty quick, depending again how you time the use.

Vapers use 3- 5 ml per day BUT seeing as you're a light smoker maybe 2 ml per day...unless of course you're out carousing and getting drunk :D
For the Netherlands Forum could always use http://translate.google.com/#

Thanks for the advice. I'm fairly certain that my low usage won't run up against any battery limitations. Thanks for the tip about carrying a pill case for the carts - I actually think it reflects very poorly on the manufacturers of eRoll that the case cannot accommodate extra carts (especially given that the size of a cart is 0.4 ml, whereas most ecig users consume far more than that on a daily basis).

EDIT: Instead of carrying pre-filled carts, can't I just carry the liquid bottle?

When I used cartomizers I kept spares in a Tic Tacs container with the rubber ends/ condoms on.

Yes, you can. I carry a small bottle of juice with me and I don't carry around extra tanks. A needle tip bottle works best for on the go filling, but a regular bottle will work, too. You should check out the eRoll thread for great details.

You want to get small bottles of any flavor to start off with. Taste is subjective, and it's better to throw 5 or 10 ml down the drain rather than 30. Cheaper too.

Also keep in mind that nothing will ever taste like a burning cigarette. There are some things that might come close, but if you're expecting the same taste from an e-cig as you get from a pack of cigarettes or a Black & Mild then you'll be disappointed. Also, don't be afraid to try some different flavors. many people have found they enjoy fruity flavors much more than any tobacco ones.

Yeah, you can. I find it easier just to prefill the carts at home and swap the carts. Others use a bottle, but you either need a very thin nozzle bottle/needle bottle or have to take off the end caps. Just much easier to swap the carts.

I think the carts are .5 mil actually, which while small is 25% larger than you give them credit for :blink:

But, in my opinion a smaller battery and larger cart would work better. Others may not agree.

I wich they had made the PCC a bit larger to store some extra carts myself, but, since everything else about it works so well, I forgive them.

I think I have 5 posts by now, but I'm still unable to make a thread on that forum. Any idea why?

Just in case anybody is interested in an update: I just received my shipment today and started vaping. I'm loving it so far!

I ordered three different types of e-liquid: low strength (6mg), medium strength (11mg), and high strength (18mg).

I decided to start with the medium and I did a 5 minute vape session. The buzz / headrush I got was stronger than anything I've ever gotten from a cigarette. Based on this, I see no reason to ever use the 18mg stuff (I might just throw it away), and I'm considering switching to the 6mg stuff.

Just order some 0mg or 6mg and mix them. Better than throwing it away.
