Problems arise from relying on one of anything.
Whatcha gonna do if something breaks, doesn't work, gets lost or battery is discharged or won't charge.
What if you don't like vaping sub ohm resistance or with a non adjustable
unregulated power output. (non vv/vw/tc)

You'll need replacement heads at least, you won't know which ones you like best until you try them.
I'd guess just starting out the .5Ω might be a good choice.

hopefully I will like it and upgrade!
Don't base all vaping experiences on this one device. There are so many ways and methods to vaping and everyone is different. If you find you don't like that one (hoping you do so you don't waste money) then there is always something else to try. :)

I'll agree with Topwater. Everyone needs a backup setup in case a piece to the puzzle fails. Don't give yourself an excuse to buy another pack of cigarettes while waiting to replace the first setup that failed.

Like Bonskibon said above, you can do all the research you want, but that doesn't necessarily guarantee that you'll choose the setup that will eventually become your favorite setup. Most of us went through a progression of vape setups before we found the devices that we use today. Vaping is a journey and a process. I made some mistakes along the way of my journey, but I learned a lot in that process.

For example, most of us would like to be able to use a smaller, compact, low-profile setup that is very pocket-friendly for mobile use. Fact is, those setups generally have lousy battery life, so you end up needing to bring along a second setup with you in case the battery dies while you're out and about. Alternatively, you could use a larger setup that uses larger batteries with more capacity that will probably last the entire day. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't. There probably isn't a "best" setup that suits EVERY vaper's application -- that's why there are so many options available.

My first lessons learned were that it takes some experimentation to figure out which coil resistance you'll like best and second was that USB charging was not for me, which lead to getting an external battery charger, removable batteries and a new device for that purpose (iStick Pico with an Atlantis Evo running a 0.5 resistance coil). My husband is using my first USB charged devices (Joyetech ego AIO and iStick Nano) so it wasn't a complete waste but if I had known better I would have gone straight to removable batteries. Luckily I've found a device and tank that satisfies me enough to have no desire to smoke. Still working on finding that sort of setup for my husband but vaping funds will be limited to juice ingredients and coils until after the holidays. Like a few others have stated, if something doesn't work out for you there is usually a way to alter it so it does.

Hi @stephzzz and welcome to ECF!

First, ANYTHING that replaces any quantity of smoking is a good thing.
I started on an integrated small device, smaller even! But it only satisfied me for a few weeks. So that investment (and I went deep enough. You need spares of everything to hope to actually switch from smoking) was lost when I knew I needed more vapor and power. NOT everyone does.

You will need 2 or better, 3 of those kits to always have a working one available.

Going to removable batteries that move from device to device ultimately gives you much more choice, flexibility, and less cost going forward than an integrated battery device. Most different tanks and RDA's work with them.

This is a good piece of advice to someone thinking about that Ijust S:

Hi @stephzzz

Not sure if you are still around. As I said, I spent a lot of money on "starter kits", which didn't last me very long. They DO make great PIFS to get other vapers going, but if I were to do it again, I'd head right here. You can start out tootle puffing small amounts, and go where ever you want from there with this kit.

The initial investment will be around $100, but you will be as done as you want to be after that.

SMOKtech Alien 220W TC and TFV8 Baby Beast Full Kit Use coupon code "Joe10" for 10% off. This is a GREAT little 2 battery mod. The batteries will last you at LEAST all day before you need to change them. And this is a GREAT little tank, you can purchase screw in coils ready to go, or get the RDA deck and make your own to save money and increase options.

Then you will need batteries and a charger. Batteries are REAL critical to get GOOD ones, and authentic. I have purchased DOZENS from this guy, and they are legit. You will want at LEAST 4, 6 would be better. 2 in the device, 2 in the charger, and 2 in a case ready for use.
6 SAMSUNG INR 18650 30Q Li-Ion HIGH DRAIN 15A BATTERY 3000mAh 3.6v w/free case | eBay

And finally you will need a charger to keep your batteries fresh. I would recommend this:
XTAR VC4 PREMIUM QUALITY USB LCD CHARGER FOR 3.7V 10440-26650 LI-ION BATTERIES

And that's it except juice! You will want spare coils and a spare glass or 2 for the tank. At some point, another one of those Alien mods, or something smaller if you want for out and about, but you will still be able to use that tank and those batteries for the OTHER mod too. That I guess, is the point.

So lets see how much you'd invest:
Alien mod and tank $54
6 AWESOME batteries $38
4 bay, quality charger $23
$115, for a very flexible device, and enough batteries that you should never be without a vape. That is an important consideration that the little kits often fall down on when the battery dies, if you don't have SEVERAL of them.

I disagree with buying an advance set up. I would go with the I just kit just realize it is a starter kit and will need updated fairly quickly but will still work as a backup. Way to many times on here I have read people buy advance stuff then come on here and ask how to make it work right. It is easier to dial in when you fewer variables to work with.

I'd stay away from it because it is sub-ohm. Could look into the pros and cons of sub ohm'g vs non sub ohm'g before you decide which way you want to go. Some folks jump right into sub ohm'g without looking at the hidden ramifications.Successful sub ohm'rs tend to know the ins and outs of vaping. That's why sub ohm'g is tagged as advanced vaping.
That being said, if you have someone to guide you in using this equipment, then go for it. This kit is an intermediate starter kit not a true beginner's starter kit IMO.
