First off, hello everyone and thanks for this forum that quickly became my primary source of information while researching e cigarettes. My friends and I have been casually discussing these things, but none of us had any first hand information. After seeing a rather biased news report (won't say who it was, but they treated something I do know about similarly), I knew there was another half to the story and I found most of it on this forum. I read up a bit here and there, actually took a trip around, etc. After deducing that my local headshop was overcharging to a staggering degree, I wound up deciding to take the plunge, using what I read here to find a trustworthy vendor. So my order's on the way (a 510, for the record) and I'm eagerly awaiting it...along with my friends.

See, I'm in a pretty remote area by most standards. You know that little chunk of Maryland dangling into the Atlantic? That's me. While the years turn the area younger demographically, it's still pretty remote and fairly removed from what most would consider connected to their surroundings. So while my friends and I would discuss these things, we literally knew no one who had them. I only was able to find a single example of it in person in said headshop, which was likely the absolute cheapest model out there (the store clerk looked at me as if I had two heads when I asked if it had different flavors). So I've apparently become the guinea pig for an entire circle of smoking friends, possibly more considering the number of smokers I'm exposed to regularly.

So in case the order doesn't come in time for it, I was hoping to get a question I'm sure will come up tomorrow during our tabletop game night (we're big damn nerds). We smoke and drink, almost always together (about 75% of the group claims some Irish blood, so take that as you will). Obviously, there's a certain magic about the combination of smoke and booze, so I was wondering how this plays out with vaping. Does it leave enough of a flavor in your mouth to mingle with the drink of choice, or is it too light for that? Keep in mind I'll likely be telling this to others, so feel free to be as descriptive as you want.

Sorry about the longwinded (and mostly unnecessary) first post. Thanks again for what seems to be a rather friendly and helpful community. I hope to be at least lurking here quite a bit.

Hello McDohl and welcome to vaping.

I tend to drink quite heavily on occasion and I noticed that the tobacco flavour that came with my PV did not cut through the alcohol. I used to compensate for this by having some 36mg liquid to hand which I would top off the cart when I needed a hit or something that reminded me of the smoking experience. I used menthol but something that would cut through would do.

It is 7 weeks since I stopped smoking altogether and the flavour needed to cut through is less - due to less gunk on my tongue probably. I prefer the non-tobacco flavours generally now although I thought Camell from LF was quite good. If I have a Guinness, I use a coffee or chocolate flavoured liquid which works well. The fruity flavours work well with lager. Not sure about what to have with my beloved Barnsley Bitter yet though .

Good luck and experiment - it is part of he whole vaping experience anyway :D:D

Hi,
Just got my 901 today....first time with vaping.
So I was wondering the same thing with my beer and my coffee.
It is a bit light for going along with my beer. (I drink more of a lager beer)
It is not bad but I do miss that connection, I feel it maybe the same with my coffee.
But the good thing I was not really craving a drink like I usually do with analogs.
Also I have not touched my new pack of analogs after my first vape......I really feel 100% I will be off analogs. So right now I am having a beer and I do miss that heavy-ness of a analog with this beer.......but I am ok without.
Now with wine that could be a diff matter, I think with some nice red wine it would be a smooth combo.

Interesting... Thanks for the replies so far, feel free to keep them coming.

I did forget to mention that I myself am a VERY light smoker by just about all measurements. At the most, I might smoke 3 cigarettes, but that's rarely twice a week that I'd even do that. So while I smoke, people actually say I don't smell like a smoker (which surprises me, since I can't smell smokers anymore).

I'll admit, the main reason I'm so interested in vaping is that I can do it while at the computer, which is likely the primary reason I rarely ever smoke. Smoking is a powerful addiction, but games are stronger for me.

The two flavors (along with the standard tobacco flavor that's coming with the kit) that I got are cappuccino and clove (since I smoke Djarums), so I'll have to see how they mix with my usual diet of Rolling Rock and Vodka-based mixed drinks.
