blue I love ry4 and I have an addiction to anything vanilla... that sounds yummy lol

sorry been away everyone I'm reading up on it all now been filling out paperwork start the new job on monday

I think it needs a little bit of Cotton Candy or ethyl Maltol or something like that to bring out the flavor a bit for me.

The extra vanilla is very yummy.

Ha! I have read that sometime the flavoring cancel out at a high %. I am just a noob though.

Did you try some ehtyl maltol (cotton candy). I have read that brings out the flavors some. I haven't tested it yet.

Check this out:
So 2% + 2% = 4% Total. For say 30 ml you would add 28.8 ml juice base liquid.

edit : DOES NOT Account for flavoring IN FINAL pg/vg RATIO. sooo, removed image I had posted.
Open mouth, insert foot!
But I thought I'd share this:

Oh geeesh now I am confused. Gonna have check back on this after I get through this next week.:)

How do you guys test your mixes? I have some cartomizers from my original SI order I could try to make drip testers, but otherwise, how do you taste your blends?

I ask because today I took the plunge today and ordered from Wizard Labs Wizard Labs. I even called with a couple questions and spoke with the owner John. Very nice man and patiently answered my questions. There is a 47 page thread here about their liquids: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/256860-wizard-labs-nic-base-reviews.html

Being a bit cautious, I didn't want to mess with high nic (48mg up) concentrates to base down. I also wanted to tone down from the 18mg liquid I have been using. So, what I did was order 250ml 18mg 90% PG liquid, and 120ml no nic VG. 18mg Nicotine solution - 250ml.

So, I figure, if I mix it all together at once, I should end up with about 370ml of 12mg 65/35ish PG/Vg unflavored e-juice base.

Now the fun part, the flavors. I did try to restrain myself a bit, but at only $1.49 for the concentrates.... well I got more than I thought I would. I tend to like the fruits more than the deserts. Did add one or two for a friend.

Here are the flavors they have available: Flavor Lab.

I am starting with (lol)

Blueberry
Carmel Cappuccino
Cinnamon Red Hots
Koolada
Menthol Liquid 10% Solution
Raspberry Flavor Concentrate
Raspberry Sweet Flavor
RY4 Asian Flavor Concentrate
Black Honey Tobacco
Irish Cream Flavor
Honey Flavor Concentrate
Strawberry Flavor Concentrate
Sweetener Flavor Concentrate
Tutti-Frutti Flavor Concentrate
Blueberry Extra TFA Flavor
Brown Sugar Flavor
Double RY4 Flavor

I also ordered a beaker, empty plastic drip tip bottles, syringes, pipettes, glass stir rod etc.

The total came to $70.51 with free priority shipping.

If anyone is interested, I will keep you all posted on how it goes.

What I've been doing lately is mixing a 3ml batch (I've got a tone of 3ml sample bottles hanging around). Then I normally fill a CE3 and have at it. I found that testing with a drip atomizer does give me an idea about a flavor, it takes at least a CE3 worth for me to decide for certain. There have been mmore than one CE3 filled, a few drags taken, then emptied and cleaned needless to say.

Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it, your results and mileage may vary, no warrantee or guarantee is expressed or implied.

By mixing it all together the ejuicemeup app won't be much good because it assumes you will be mixing as needed and thinks you will be mixing nic, pg, vg and flavor as you go.

I would have suggested you buy individual quantities of nic, pg and vg. This would give you more control of the final mix. But, as you intend to "mix it all together" ( which is what I do after I have made a base juice liquid ) you might make yourself a cheat sheet like:

I too mix up a test batch.

I started with the ejuicemeup app and would print and make a batch. I now have a stack of printouts and a lot of wasted paper and ink. I found it very time consuming and messy. It required mixing nic, pg, vg and flavor. So now, using my cheat sheet( see above ), I find it much faster and cleaner. For me the point is to be able to make a "good" flavor again so it is important to keep notes. I should note that I find my ability to taste comes and goes. One day its there, then its not. I would also recommend starting with low flavor %'s and working your way up. Also start with single flavor batches so you can identify what each tastes like to you.

I think it's the 901 atomizer you can use with an 808 if you just want to drip test though is SI came out with a drip tester 808 style I'd be all over that ... I hate using my CE3's for testing a juice and having to clean them when it's foul and cartomizers you might as well throw away if you use them to test a bad batch.... never can fully get the taste out in my opinion

Paddymx, I have been playing with the ejuice me up software and I think it will work great. eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator. It has the ability to work with pre-mixed juices. What you do is in the very top input your pre-mixed juice then in the target nic strength (next line) at the top you put a 0 in there.

I also like the fact that you can create your own defaults. Including the fact you can change how many drops = a ml for you. I think I will keep using it since it can also save my final recipes, along with having a large database of recipes included in the download. Also, it is just changing one number to switch from a 3ml sample to any other size. The explanation by the author can be found here: eJuice Calculator - HOW TO

Hmmm, I just threw out a bunch of CE3's because they all taste burnt to me. They are still in the trash by the desk, so could pull them out since it is no longer filled with ashes and butts. I know I am going to get frustrated, because I will want to try mixing multiple flavors when my stuff comes in.

I do still have 5 cartomizers I got initially from SI, so might dig up Outlaw's video again on how to make them into drip testers.

It's very easy to do. Just use a bent paper clip, little "L" on one end of one that you've straightened out, slide it down the carto wall, turn 90 degrees and slide the polyfill right out. Another way, one I did inadvertently, is to put it in a spinner like you're going to dry it, mouthpiece end out or down, and give it a really hard, long spin. The polyfill will start coming out on its own from the angular acceleration.

Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it, your results and mileage may vary, no warrantee or guarantee is expressed or implied.

I just found out a CE3 makes a better drip tester than a carto. It's easier to clean between tests and you can see what is going on inside! :D I took out the center post like for cleaning and leave it out, I also took a utility knife and cut the outer tube a little shorter. Don't over do the dripping, 2 or 3 drops are plenty, down the sides above the wick holes. :vapor:

Do you just drip into it? I mean, are you using a syringe to insert the drops with it upside down or leaving the inner silicone seal off and dripping drops in directly?

Hehe, I just pulled the ones I had out of the trash.

Also, you don't dry burn these do you?

BTW, I plan on using only manual X2's with my drip tastings.

Oops, sorry! Yeah, leave the upper seal out also. Have you seen outlaw vapers video about cleaning them? Smokeless Image CE3 Cartomizer - YouTube It's about 30min. long but is excellent info, worth the time! A leaker is how I thought of it. I dropped one and it cracked and started leaking, so I cleaned it and planned to try the finger nail polish to seal it and put back in service. I was looking at it without the seal and center post and then it hit me...drip tester! Manual batts would be good as they are easier to dry burn with. Good luck! :vapor:
