I am so heartbroken. A family member broke my Crown Uwell and Innokin Disruptor. SAD FACE. The only other vape gear I have is my Subvod which leaks like a ..... So I need a whole new everything!
Last night the new Kanger Protank 4 caught my eye. Looks pretty sweet. But I can't wait for it to come to market next month. What really caught my eye was the adjustable airflow on the drip tip and the dual coil RBA.
I'm not as experienced as most of you and have only done basic single coil builds in 26 Kanthal. I want to really up my game, play with something new. I looked at dual clapton coils, ceramic coils and started trying to look for a dual coil RBA. I do not want to drip, just a personal preference.
The Google rabbit hole brought me to the SMOK TFV4. I'm curious about this. I loved my Crown Uwell, LOVED, but I want to play and improve my build skills.
I'm also at a complete loss for the actual mod. My happy place is generally around 50 Watts. I know NOTHING about temperature control. I think I could probably go higher in Watts with a different set up, it was simply HOT on mine.
Thoughts, suggestions, feedback?
Thanks!
I'm sorry for your loss!
No clue on the Kanger Protank... I did start with Kanger EVOD, then moved to Kanger Nano & Mini....They served me well for many months, including the RBA for the mini. Then I wanted more, so I bought the SMOK xCube II, and the TFv4 along with some RBAs kits for it... I LOVED the TFv4 AMAZING flavor, and clouds when compared to the Kanger mini....The RBA options, less than impressed especially the RBA single coil, looked like a PITA, you have to shape/bend the coils a certain way to work! Anyway, I'll cut to the chase....TFv4, LOTS of coil options, coils are HUGE, LOTS of vapor, much better/stronger flavor, uses lots of power, uses lots of ejuice too... I've read that most people can go 1,2, or more weeks with a coil. Well, I was going thru a coil every few days, and got tired of paying $20-$25 per pack of 5 coils.... the RDA options while better than the Kanger, still isn't anywhere as good as the pre-built coils! So, I started buying tanks, and a few RDA's....I've had the Bellus, the Avocado, the Griffin, the Gemini, Tobeco Velocity clone, Mutation X4, etc.....I've settled on the the Velocity, and Griffin, and now have three Griffins and two Tobeco Velocity clones, and love them! I also have 2x Joyetech Cuboid, Wismec RX200, HotCig DX200(DNA), the Smok xCube II, Kanger Subtank mini, and somewhere in a cabinet the original EVOD.....
So... I still have, and still use the xCube II, and like it. It works well for me, no major issues. SMOK is constantly releasing new firmware, which is great! It was originally 160watts, now at 180watts after firmware updates. Temperature control works well for me using SS316L....That said, would I buy it again today, in today's market? No, it's still selling for about $54.00, and you can get mods that work as well, or better for less. Also, the xCube II is HEAVY, heavier than even the RX200!
I have no idea what your priorities are, ie what is most important to you, size/shape/weight/power/Temperature Control/battery life....Joyetech/Wismec/eLeaf make some really good inexpensive mods, BUT they all share the same 510 connection that has issues with certain attys! In my case the TFv4 works fine with all of them(BUT a lot of people have issues where it won't screw down all the way, and TC doesn't work properly). HOWEVER, the Gemini RTA will not sit flush on ANY of them, and TC doesn't work right on the RX200 with it. I have to use a 510 spacer...or, just use it on the xCube.... because on that it sits flush, and works!
The TFv4 rocks with pre-built coils, RBA isn't great at all! IF you want to make your own coils, get a Griffin or the SMOK TF-RTA G2, and a Cuboid, both together perhaps $65 not counting shipping...or even the eVIC VTC mini would be a good choice, if your not going above 50watts, or do TC.....If you want go the pre-built coil route, I'm not too sure, as I really don't look to much at those any more... I can tell you this, IF you go with the TFv4 and pre-built coils, you need something that can do 80-120 watts depending on the coil you choose, as the triple, and quad Claptons require it....whatever you choose, extra batteries, and external charger, make sure to add that to your budget.....
The Pioneer4you IPv5 seems to be on clearance/deep discount, and has been $40.00 or less for the last week or so,.......Great chipset, good mod, no 510 issues, and cheap.....
