Hi,
After reading a lot of articles you referred me to, I think I have a better idea of what I'm looking for *right now*.

First off, I want an rda, not a RBA, simply because I like to switch flavors very often and I don't like to carry lots of tanks with me.
Second, I don't think I need to get into sub-ohms right now when I'm a beginner, I rather go on the safe side and use 1.2ohm+

I was thinking to start with IGO-W3 with A1 26 on 1.5ohm, using (sigelei Zmax v5 and MVP v2).

Any other recommendations and tips would be highly appreciated!

Many thanks :p

The IGO-W3 is a quad coil RDA, if you are looking to stay at or above 1.2 ohms, definitely go single coil. I'd get an IGO-S or some other small chamber single coil RDA, build it with a microcoil and cotton, and enjoy the excellent flavor.

Also, do not buy 26 gauge kanthal for resistance that high. Get 32 gauge if you decide to go with multi coils, otherwise get 28 gauge for a single coil. 30 gauge is very versatile, wouldn't be a bad idea to get some of that too. 26 gauge requires more power than you have available, and even 28 gauge will have you close to topped out. Keep that in mind.

Thanks for both of you,

Any 5 bucks dripper will do the job as any other.
For sub ohm coils you need to get a mechanical or at least a 20amp mod. 1.5 ohm coils can do a good job too.
What do you mean by $5 drippers? I'm not looking to save money (not spending more than I have to), I don't mind spending $30-$40 for something good that will give me positive experience and will push me to continue forward to better stuff.

I also can't use anything with plastic, I have a lot of PC cracker juices.

And as I said, the reason I don't want to go sub-ohm at the beginning is because I rather start safely, and I guess with 1.5ohm I have less chance to make mistakes (of course I'm going to check it first on a ohm meter, I just hope a fall or a hit to the tank can't connect the wicks when I'm outside).

For a single coil device I really like the hcigar immortalizer clone. It uses ribbon wire and flavor is awesome in the 1.2 range on my mech. I imagine 1.4-1.5 on your electronic mod would be fantastic.

You may end up wanting to drill the air holes to 1/16 on the outer sleeve but this is the easiest drill job of all time as this sleeve is aluminium.

Highly recommend this rda that I think I paid about $30 for.

Thanks logun, I somewhat agree with you, I just don't want to get the wrong impression from it, (if I'll go with a small toy with small wicking material, the experience may not be much better compare to Nautilus or 510 bridgeless attys) so I want feel there's any reason to bother with "more work".

I don't think I need something fancy with lots of features, I don't even understand why would people want to fill liquid from the bottom :X I only expect better vaping experience out of it (stronger and more accurate flavor by the end of the day).

Because it's dripping without having to drip - you just squeeze the bottle that's a part of your mod! So, dripping without the hassle :p (And you can drive with it LOL)

Like you, I wanted to give dripping a try a while back and picked up in igo-L at the local shop just to play with. I've experimented with a number of 1.5-2 ohm coils in it, both micro and regular coils, using 28, 30, and 32 gauge Kanthal. For what it's worth, in my humble opinion, the 28 heats up too slow on a regulated mod, 30 is a little better, but I've found I still prefer 32 gauge.

ok so i think ill go with the igo-l with 30 awg a1.
(the igo-s looks awesome but i think the bigger "igo-l" will be easier to work on as a first atty).

do you think i should go with silica wicks or organic cotton balls?

do i need a torch for the a1 coils? if so, is this one ok?

i have a multi meter so i dont think i need to purchase ohm meter right away.

Also like you, I ordered my first RDA and went with the IGO-L to learn and experiment.

Check out Kidney Puncher, they have IGO-L where you can customise your hole width for better airflow, there is a lot of complaint on the standard holes. I also ordered the 32gu kanthal as I plan to work on a MVP v2.

And yes, organic cotton balls would be a better option than silica wick.

IgoL is a great first dripper. Airflow control can't be adjusted, so you may have to drill it out to customize it however.

If you are using a regulated mod, you don't need to worry that much about coil resistance. Although you will need to make sure they aren't too low op for your particular mod or it just won't fire it.

I'd also recommend 30g. 28g may get your resistance too low without enough wraps. 32g is too thin and pliable and is really hard to work with IMO... Micro coils can easily deform while you are mounting and compressing them.

Oh my I love cotton :)
The ekowool is also amazing and easy to deal with, but the cotton feels so much better for my taste !

I really like the Trident, verrryyy easy to use as a first RDA, and I'm glad it have airflow control and mounting slots (at the beginning I didn't really wanted them, thought it's really unnecessary).

The only disadvantage for me is that the air hole is leaking when I drip liquid, so I got used to drip in an angle when the hole is on the top, and if I have a paper towel next to me, I cover the hole with a small piece.

Many thanks for all the tips, suggestions and information!

Next stop - RBAs! I just don't wanna touch any of my tanks now :)

Just finish my first genny, a AGA-T2 with 1.3 single coil ekwool. Happy Happy Joy Joy!

Tomorrow I'll probably drill its air hole a little bit, and try to use the mesh instead of the ekwool, for some reason the ekwool gave me a much better flavor/experience on the RDA.

Edit: Switched to Cotton on the AGA, nice flavor, still the Trident is so much better :)
