Hello again everyone! So, I got a Nimbus V5 rda clone from a buddy of mine, and now that I've recently purchased an MVP 2.0, I want to combine to two to work together. I called my local vape shop, and asked them if they could coil the rda so that it would work on my MVP, and they said "No, you would really need to buy a mech mod."

I frankly don't believe them, so I want to come to people who aren't trying to sell me things, you guys. Is there any way I can coil my rda so that it will work on my MVP? The MVP 2.0 has a 1.3ohm minimum, so sub-ohming is out, and it has a 5V/11W maximum power output. Any help on this would be fantastic. Thanks so much!

    Welcome to ECF Toxu...

To stay at 1.2-1.3Ω suitable for a MVP2s 3 amp limit - and build dual, compressed parallel coils that will fit inside a Nimbus, you can go larger on the mandrel ID. You're kinda limited to thinner wire, unless you go big on the mandrel, but it's doable.

For example - using Steam engine (see my first sig line below), the coil models (with 3mm legs), are as follows:

    30ga on a 2mm mandrel is a 11/10 wrap, or 9/8 on a 2.5mm mandrel.
    29ga on a 2mm - a 13/12, or 11/10 on 2.5mm.
    28ga on a 2.5mm - 14/13. (getting a little long now)... but on a 3mm, a more reasonable 12/11 wrap.
I've built the latter, and it produces very nice flavor, with good vapor production from the large coil surface area.

Or... just build it as a single coil with 26~28 gauge on a 2.0-3.0mm mandrel. There's no rule that says you must build dual coils. A stock, un-drilled Nimbus V5 air flow is pretty restricted anyway (depending on who made it - there's more than one ya' know)... and you don't need a ton of air for a single 1.3Ω coil.
If your V5 has dual air holes that have been drilled, you can cover or plug one of the holes... if the air is too much.
