Keep weaning yourself and get stronger flavors. A straight peppermint liquid is excellent! You get flavor and excellent throat hit! Cinnamon, or anything with cinnamon mixed in is great too! Be careful, cinnamon melts plastic. Chocolate flavors are good for weaning, because you want to taste chocolate, not the peppery nicotine taste.

There are certainly other factors besides just the mgs that effect throat hit. Higher percentages of PG are also said to increase it, as well as more powerful devices and different flavors as Worzel said. I'm not a fan of throat hit myself. I did try an Atomic Fireball juice once from DFW Vapors at only 8 mgs and it practically killed me. I haven't touched it since.

No. Don't ever go up in nic. What you do is get a good drip rba ie igo-l, ithaka, or Prometey, and you wrap a dual coil and lower your ohms on build. Having a dual coil is like smoking two analogs at the same time. So what most people have to do is lower their nic level in half. Get it? Good... Now have fun

I think you may have been vaping too much. It happens to me too. I start the mornings with 18mg and by the end of the day, I need 36mg to feel the throat hit. I guess it's the throat getting desensitized? I vape not for the nic, but the throat hit. Even as a smoker, I craved the throat hit, not the nic.
What I do is to periodically vape some really strong flavors at 0nic. The strong flavor is to help me take my mind off the missing throat hit.
Alternatively, you can try diablo loco from liberty flights. But it's definitely not throat hit. I've tried it. Just the same as steeping some chilli seeds in my pg.

Oh, I forgot to mention, if you really like throat hit, maybe you shouldn't vape any cool flavors like mint or menthol. I know most people would say menthol gives a better throat hit. But I find that it actually mutes the hit.
I hope I don't offend anyone by saying this, but menthol, rbas, chilli, vodka, higher voltages not give the throat hit. It just gives a throat hit like sensation. Very very different from throat hit you get from nic.

im not a big fan of sugary flavors, i like the super fruity tart ones hahaha. Peppermint or minty type flavors makes me just want to smoke a cigarette cause i use to smoke the green camels where its double menthol. so i gotta stay away from those too lol. but thank you for the suggestions!! :]

OP: Do you vape the same flavor all day long, or switch it up? What about nic? 18mg all day? I try to keep a tank of my regular 18mg as well as a lower mg tank for when I find myself in that chain vape stage of the day, I'll switch to the lower nic and get my "vape" fix, then once I feel satisfied put the 18mg back on.

For example: When I first get to work we are closed so I have several hours of prep and vape time, so I use the lower nic because I know that regardless of nic strength I'm going to be chain vaping. Then once we open I only have a few opportunities throughout the night to step away to vape, so I vape the higher strength juice.

I realize this is not a direct answer to your question, but I think it might help to switch up the flavors and strengths so that you are not desensitized to the throat hit of vaping 18mg all day long. Also upping PG can help with throat hit, but you will sacrifice vapor. Also as far as menthol, as stated earlier it will simulate throat hit, but not give you any more actual throat hit. Once you vape some menthol you will understand that a little better.

I was a pack a day smoker before I started vaping a few months ago. I started with 18mg of nic, but lately (even now as im vaping) I haven't been able to feel a throat hit -___- I really don't want to move up to 24mg either especially when Ive been trying to ween myself off the nicotine. Any suggestions?

A member mention in a thread for 0mg nic user to add a drop or two of Apple Cider Vinegar to enhance TH. I have not verified this for myself.

i hate to say it to someone else because I can't do it myself but "Put your PV down once in while!" lol. jk. I was a PAD smoker and I chain vape and even at 6mg I am most likely vaping more and getting more nic than I did when I was a smoker. Hence, why I vape 6mg. When I vape anything over 6mg I overdo it. If I am having a really crazy day 6mg can be too much because I never put the PV down. Its just too easy to vape all day. Even when I was vaping 24 mg, that little voice you are supposed to hear when you have had enough never whispered in my ear, I just keep vaping like an energizer bunny. Its tough for me to get to 0 nic as I would love to one day be nic free, I know I will get there. It was hard to give up throat hit but I was willing to scrap that for vapor production and taste. Using a VV device helped a lot but I digress. just because as far as we know right now that vaping is a "safer" option doesn't mean I should throw "all things in moderation" out the window. tough as it may be, i just have to remind myself to cool it once in a while, but lowering nic is helping a lot. If I didn't I would be bouncing off the walls. As is I am having some sleep issues, not because vaping is bad and causes it but because I can't integrate and sense of self discipline. urggh!

I see what you mean. Another suggestion would be to order yourself some 36mg juice with extra flavor, and get a bottle of unflavored 0mg to dilute to your needs. I use Wal Mart glycerine to dilute mine. I need higher nic (24mg) juice when I am work because I have to stealth vape, but I ease off (6mg) at home on my free time. Try switching flavors, many flavors! Have a few tanks or whatnot ready for switching.
