Nic`d Up in Oklahoma!
When I first started with my Protank I had everything in the house except the wire and a ohm meter. I had screwdrivers, some drill bits, I actually used a 1/16 steel rod for the first PT coils. And I had cotton balls in the bathroom. Used that stuff for several months before getting into RDA`s and then the only thing I needed was better cotton and lower gauge wire.

Rebuilding and DIY juice really sets you free in this hobby. Once you learn it you have coils on demand and juice up the wazoo. And its dirt cheap.

What gauge wire should I go with? I seem to like the 1.5 ohm coils right now but want to experiment a little bit. I've also seen the silica wick, would that be the way to go? What range resistance can the pt3 handle?(paired to itaste mvp 2.0)

I like 30 and 28 gauge. For single coils in my PT2 heads, about 7-8 wraps around a 1/16" bit hits right there.
