Forgive my ignorance.....I just received my infinity yesterday. First of all I thought the kit came with an atty, but I was mistaken. So I'm going to look around in my inventory and try out a standard resistance carto first. Thank goodness I was smart enough to order a couple of adapters. I think I must have ordered a blemished one, too. Anyway, do I need to charge the batteries before they will work....and about how many times will I be able to re charge them? Also, I don't really see any numbers on the dial...so I guess I'll just play around with it for awhile when I get started. I think I also need to go to harborview freight tool place and get a little screwdriver to take the tip off. I'm positive that's where the batteries go. Wow...I am feeling pretty stupid right about now.

Yea they just put the blemished ones on sale. Like 72.50 bucks or something. You can recharge the batts alot. You should get you a spare set of batts so you still can vape while the others are charging. You should not need a screwdriver to take the bottom cap off for the batts, just grab it and twist off (counter clockwise). The white mark on the dial is 5volts. Spinning dial to the right increases the voltage. spinning left decreases the voltage. Hope this helps you. Very good PV!!

Most of the time the batts come charged (somewhat). Some people say charge them first to get the best life out of them, some people say use them first to get a full charge to get the best life out of them. Some kind of memory thing. I dont think it matters either way, They are protected batteries so thats what the protection circuit is for. If I'm wrong about that someone will chime in to help (hopefully). I dont know too much about batteries.

Cat it is hard to hurt your ∞. You can use the batteries right away. You can recharge them a ton of times. There isn't any memory on these batteries. The top is cone shaped and that is where your atty/cart goes. the batts go in tab first like a flashlight. And the white line is right about 4.5v.
No worries , no stress. Just press the button and ENJOY !!!!!! :)

O...M...G!!!!! This is amazing. I put in a standard 510 carto I had that didn't do squat for my 510's and ego. I thought it was a poor quality carto until I began to understand about resistance. I'm so glad I didn't toss them. I had no idea what I was missing. This is just awesome. Thank you so much everyone and especially 5cardstud for encouraging me to get one of these. I'm very happy. I'm going to play around with the dial for awhile.

The Infinity is protected against anything except putting the batteries in backwards so make sure you put them in right. Now just vape. If the atty/carto you use is an LR it just won't work but you won't hurt the Infinity so don't worry about it. Li-ion batteries don't have a memory so use them till they stop and then charge them. I got one set of batteries I've been using in my Buzz for a yr. and they still work great. Got them from notcig.

I know and they can't handle the load they have now but still keep on adding people. Seems like the smart thing would be to close new members until they can handle the load they got. I guess they figure if we all can't come on ECF none of us can. They keep promising to add more servers but that's been going on since I started in Jan. of 2010. I get that message every single day. I've posted on it a few times and get the same ol we're working on it. I would contribute some more money if it would help but after researching their worth I don't think that's it.

Landlord, the "protected" part means that the batteries have a circuit built in to protect it against things like overcharging, overheating, etc. Unprotected batteries can explode under the wrong conditions.

Even with protected batteries, mods should be vented to release the gasses in the event that something goes wrong. I'm sure that Mike's PV's, and all of the professional ones have that kind of venting, but something to keep in mind if you ever decide to try to make your own.

That's right. Plus you never know when the protection circuit will fail. I have batteries with bad ones. An ounce of prevention saves a pound of cure. Mikes PVs are vented.

I just want to thank all the nice people here. It feels good to know I can reach out and know help is on the way. I'm in love with my infinity. It was a great investment!! I'll spend some time researching all the existing posts on this forum to further educate myself. It will be fun while playing with my new, very awesome toy!! Sincerest thanks.
