Even when you DIY you sometimes don't get what you expect. I tried flavours from different sources and had some nasty surprises. One vendor had caramel that tasted like a bad beef broth and mint that tasted like soap. The end result was REALLY awful.
Those from Flavour Arts are generally quite good. (Though they take AGES packaging and sendin an order, at least in the EU)
