Hello fellow vapers! I am in search of a small stealth mod that has temp control but can also sub ohm a reasonable variety of coils in wattage mode. The tarot mini by vaporesso suits me in every way - unique centre mounted 510 for symmetry, GREAT looks, small, and a full 80watts..which is much more than things like the eleaf nano or the nuggetv2. it even has power curves.. BUT, Phil Busardo basically shows that vaporesso's omni chip on all their devices fails safe temp control burning tests.. Does anyone know more about this..

I decided to get the archon by aspire instead of the G priv I had saved for, as it was half the price, literally. But this also left me room in the budget to get a second mod. I don't miss the touch screen at all, and the archon's features are just superb. It temp vapes flawlessly. BUT, the archon is too heavy and awkward imo to take out. I am really getting into temp vaping.

So does anyone have any experience with vaporesso omni board? Does the fact it fails all cotton dry burn tests, mean it still won't vape safely with a tank WITH juice in it, in pre built coils like the joyetechs? Theoretically, vaporesso *could* fix any issues with a firmware update right? These are firmware upgradeable (no new one as yet, i keep checking).

I trust Phil, even though his videos are irritatingly drawn out, he seems quite knowledgeable.

Would love to hear any others' opinion.

Cheers and as always, thanks very much in advance!

I just purchased the Tarot nano kit. It works great in power mode although the smart setting was a little high for me but you can adjust it to your liking. Now tc was a let down at first until I hooked it up to there e-ciga software. If you noticed Phil's ran away in tc and burned the cotton. He then showed how to update it and it then did tc (but not well) When I first tried tc it stunk. After I re-set the values in e-ciga it was better. They had tcr for Ti set at 266 where Steam engine has it at 366. The first time I hit it in tc after the re-set and reload of the firmware it ran away but then it was alright. Maybe you have to power it off and restart it after an upload to the device I don't know. You can set a curve on the devise for power mode (watts) and temp mode (temp) I haven't fooled with it yet. For now I'm running it in power with there ceramic coil and I'm impressed. I have been using rba's and haven't bought a coil in years but after trying this I went right on line and bought more coils for the little tank. Haven't had it that long so this is about all I can add.

Thanks very much. I did sit through the whole review, and it would work with FW, but then not, and then do, etc. I found it actually quite hit and miss and totally unpredictable, and his overall rating regardless was that it was an unsafe device.
I have messed with power curves on the archon and i love it. I created my own curve for the smok micro mini 0.25 coil, where it hits real hard then tapers a bit, has a mid boost then fades away. Since the vaporesso omni editing of curves is identical to aspires, i am sure i will enjoy mucking about with that too.

The vendor told me, buy a tarot nano, just don't TC on it lol. And maybe that's the answer.. just enjoy it on power mode.

BTW i checked out the nugget v2, and it can only do whole watt jumps. If i am MTL ing which i sometimes do when out, i always tune my vape and TH very precisely, for example a nautilus 1.8 always seems to end up at 11.7 watts.. and i can notice the difference between that and 11 or 12. You can't do this with the nugget which is the only mod i know of, other than the old aspire esp 30, that only jumps in whole watt increments.

The aspire x30 rover kit is interesting as you get a tiny stealth mod and a nautilus x. If i was sure i only wanted to MTL when out, it probably would have been the perfect kit, and i know aspire these days makes really good stuff. But if i run into other avid vapers, we always cloud chase for fun.

I am just so bummed about the Omni board TC. I tell you what, i'd be running to buy that mod in the crazy green abstract pattern colour now if i could just be assured of accurate TC.
On the other hand i remain optimistic as logic dictates that a FW upgrade could solve everything.

I looked at the aspire odyssey mini kit with the mini triton, but it's just a tad too big and too expensive ofr a 50 watt mod.

Any other suggestions guys, i am all ears.

Maybe it's time to consider a joyetech, they seem to have these vtc two mini and micro things that could be the ticket. If anyone has specific tanks that don't work on joyetech/wismec (rx 2 mini is an option), then please post them also. TIA much in advance again.

So I made a decision fwiw, thought i'd share it:
After all that i went for the aspire X30 rover kit, cause the 30 watt mod looks great in red, holds a 22mm atty flush, and comes with a nautilus X. I decided i didn't really need to experiment with temp control when out, I can do that with the archon at home. 30 watts is still enough to use my isub with if i really want to sub (this little thing goes down to 0.2 ohm), but the naut works great with the aspire nx30. It seems to have a really low fire lag time and gives a very satisfying vape. Not a single rattle, seems built like a brick SH. What clenched the deal was it is exactly the same price here as just the tarot nano mod on it's own, but i got the naut x too.
