I was interested in the U stand, but I was concerned about over tightening the battery so the fire button would not be right next to the clearo....

Any issues with where the fire button ends up when the battery is correctly torqued?

I ordered one from FT this afternoon. Will report back about the firing button when it arrives.

There's about a quarter turn of "impossible positions" so to speak - where the button ends up facing the clearo. If you want to tighten the battery all the way, you need luck if you want the button to end up at noon, 3 o'clock or 6 o'clock. Otherwise you need to back off a bit to reach the previous best position and still keep the battery tight enough to make contact properly. Fortunately, proper contact seems to happen for over 2 turns, so that's not critical, but the battery does have a tiny bit of play in the socket.

If you really want to get rid of it, you could either install a shim between the top of the socket and the battery, stick a layer of scotch tape on the eGo thread to fill the void, file down the socket slightly, or make some kind of clip to connect the clearo and the battery mechanically at the top. But there isn't enough play to bother really.

As for me, I intend to use the thing inside a tin, so I won't see the play even if it bothered me.

It's about 2 1/8 in from end to end. It's a 350 mAh thingy.

Well, it's surprisingly long-lasting actually. I stealth-vaped that thing during a business meeting that lasted a good 4 hours the other day, and it went through 2 ml of juice like a champ before quitting. Then again, it's still rather new. Performances will drop as the battery ages.

Also, it's about stealth-vaping. The emphasis is on form factor here, not long life. I prefer a battery that doesn't last too long to being caught red-handed vaping where I shouldn't any day of the week.

Ok, I gotta ask. How the heck did you do that during a meeting? Large or small venue? I would think everyone would see the vapor.

You can take as long a drag as you want, that's no problem. The tricks are:

- Release the button half a second and draw air before removing the drip tip from your lips, to prevent any stray vapor from escaping
- Hold it in your lungs for as long as possible, so the glycerin condenses, and exhale slowly (I suppose it works with PG-based liquids too, but I haven't tried. I only vape VG)

There's also a way to hold it inside your hand and pressing on the button with your ring finger, so the e-cig isn't visible from the outside. That and you need to adopt a Rodin Thinker pose when you bring your hand to your mouth, so it looks like you're lost in deep thoughts or something.

I can vape sitting next to someone and the person would never know.

the tank itself with thick walled glass and rubber washers is incredibly strong and break resistant. if anything, the eGo will break way before the IBTanked.

I was more thinking about the 510 threads. The only connection between the top and the bottom is that fragile little connector - and the tank's bottom isn't pressed firmly against the cone ring to stabilize and solidify the whole assembly, like a one-piece 22 mm clearo base is.
