I can report that of the many atomizers (over 50 now) that I have taken apart--steam in no way removes any of the hard residual from the coil unfortunalty. I have held the steamer right up to the coil and let it fire for over half an hour with no removal of any deposits--so for cleaning the coil, I have dismissed steam. As for cleaning and getting rid of taste within the mesh--yes you can have some results----Sun
How often did you steam the atties though?
I could see it working as a good preventitive measure if done often enough... as in not once the coil is encrusted.
Oh believe me Sun... I know what we are looking for.
Thanks for the info on the use of a new, hardly used, atomizer. Too bad I already placed an ebay bid on a steam cleaner (it looked cool, so I jumped the gun).
I know when I was in school, a long time ago, I worked at a Tim Hortons and they had a steam cleaner... that thing would clean almost anything. Guess an atomizer might not be one of them
Oh well, the search goes on, eh?
Thanks for the info sun i was just looking at to top of the wick my atomizer are enclosed.I had no idea that the part i can't see is probably all messed up with build up8-o
What happened to the lemon juice method?
V-V--tried up front coil in lemon juice and there is no way that lemon juice is going to do anything to remove the residue from that coil---Wish it did---Sun
